Job Title: Environmental Officer

Department: Regulatory / Environmental Consulting

Location: Guwahati, Assam

Reporting To: COO / Regional Head

About the Role

Techknowgreen Solutions Limited is seeking an Environmental Officer to support clients in achieving environmental compliance, securing permissions, and implementing sustainable operations. The role involves conducting environmental assessments, preparing applications for clearances and consents, implementing monitoring programs, and providing technical advisory on pollution control and sustainability practices.

Key Responsibilities

·     Guide clients on compliance with national/state environmental laws and regulations.

·     Assist in preparing EC, CTE, and CTO applications with Pollution Control Boards and MoEFCC/SEIAA.

·     Develop and maintain compliance matrices for clients.

·     Conduct baseline monitoring (air, water, soil, noise, ecology, socio-economic) and prepare EIAs/EMPs.

·     Design and implement environmental monitoring programs; perform compliance audits and ISO 14001 gap assessments.

·     Advise clients on pollution prevention, waste minimization, cleaner production and circular economy practices.

·     Prepare regulatory, compliance and ESG reports; maintain project records.

·     Support EMS implementation, gap analyses, staff training and certification readiness.

·     Conduct training and workshops for client staff on environmental compliance, monitoring and best practices.

·     Liaise with regulators and support clients during inspections, audits, and hearings.

Qualifications & Experience

·     Bachelor's & Master's in Environmental Science/Engineering, Environmental Management, Civil/Chemical Engineering, or related field.

· years of experience in consent management, EIA, environmental clearance and compliance audits.

·     Knowledge of regulatory authorities (APCB, CPCB, MoEF&CC) and permitting processes.

·     Strong documentation, analytical, and investigative skills.

·     Practical skills: Sampling, monitoring and basic statistical interpretation.

·     Desirable: ISO 14001 Lead Auditor certification; EIA accreditation from MoEF&CC/QCI-NABET.

·     Industry exposure: Waste management, air/water/soil pollution control.

·     Knowledge of Assamese and other local languages and excellent communication skills is mandatory.
