Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Automation Test Lead with 8 years of experience in software testing, particularly in leading automation testing efforts for complex enterprise applications.

The ideal candidate should have a strong background in test automation frameworks, hands-on scripting experience, and team leadership.

As an Automation Test Lead, you will be responsible for driving the design, implementation, and execution of automation test strategies to ensure software quality and continuous delivery.

You will work closely with development, QA, DevOps, and product teams to deliver high-quality solutions in an agile environment.

Key Responsibilities :

Test Automation Strategy & Frameworks :

- Define, design, and implement robust, scalable, and maintainable test automation frameworks (UI/API/Database).

- Select appropriate tools and technologies for automation based on the application architecture.

- Develop and maintain test automation scripts using tools such as Selenium, Cypress, Playwright, TestNG, Cucumber, Postman, Rest Assured, etc.

- Maintain and improve CI/CD integration with automation suites (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab CI/CD, Azure DevOps).

Leadership & Team Management :

- Lead a team of automation engineers and manual testers, providing technical mentorship and guidance.

- Plan and allocate testing tasks, track execution, and ensure timely delivery of test outcomes.

- Ensure testing best practices and standards are followed across the team.

- Conduct code reviews and promote high-quality test code practices.

Test Planning & Execution :

- Collaborate with business analysts and developers to understand requirements and translate them into test cases and automation scripts.

- Define and document test plans, test scenarios, and test data for functional and non-functional requirements.

- Execute regression, integration, smoke, and sanity test suites in both automated and manual fashion when needed.

- Analyze test failures and work with development teams to identify root causes and resolutions.

Reporting & Stakeholder Communication :

- Track and report test execution progress, defect status, and test coverage using test management tools like JIRA, TestRail, or Zephyr.

- Provide QA metrics and dashboards for sprint and release cycles.

- Participate in daily stand-ups, sprint planning, and retrospectives in Agile/Scrum teams.

Continuous Improvement :

- Continuously evaluate and implement improvements to the test process, test tools, and automation efficiency.

- Research emerging technologies in QA and automation and incorporate them into the QA ecosystem.

Required Skills & Qualifications :

Area Requirements :

- Experience 8 years in QA/testing, with at least 4 years in test automation and 2 years in a lead role

- Programming/Scripting Java, Python, JavaScript, or TypeScript (based on tool stack)

- Automation Tools Selenium WebDriver, TestNG, JUnit, Rest Assured, Cypress, Playwright, Postman

- Frameworks Hybrid, BDD (Cucumber), Data-driven frameworks

- API Testing Experience testing RESTful APIs using Postman, Rest Assured, or similar

- CI/CD Tools Jenkins, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, Azure DevOps

- Version Control Git (Bitbucket/GitHub/GitLab)

- Bug Tracking JIRA, Bugzilla, or equivalent

- Test Management Tools TestRail, Zephyr, Xray, or similar

- Cloud & Environments Exposure to cloud platforms (AWS/Azure), Docker, basic Kubernetes

- Agile Strong experience working in Agile/Scrum teams

Desired (Good-to-Have) Skills :

- Performance Testing experience using JMeter or Gatling

- Mobile testing (Appium or BrowserStack)

- Security testing knowledge (basic)

- ISTQB Certification or equivalent

- Experience in testing SaaS/cloud-native applications

Soft Skills :

- Strong problem-solving and debugging skills

- Ability to lead and motivate a team
