Job Description:

SecurityLit Limited is seeking an API Penetration Tester to join our dynamic and growing team. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of API penetration testing and a passion for cybersecurity. This role will involve testing and securing APIs for a variety of applications, including those in sensitive industries.

Responsibilities:

· Conduct penetration testing on APIs to identify vulnerabilities and security flaws.

· Develop, execute, and manage API test plans and strategies.

· Analyze APIs and system services to uncover weaknesses and develop exploits.

· Document and report on findings, risks, and recommendations after each testing phase.

· Work closely with development teams to ensure secure coding practices are implemented.

· Stay up-to-date with the latest industry trends, techniques, and methods used by hackers and cybersecurity companies.

Requirements:

· 1-3 years of experience in API penetration testing or a related field.

· Deep understanding of HTTP, REST, and SOAP protocols.

· Proficiency in using API testing tools such as Postman, Burp Suite, OWASP ZAP, etc.

· Knowledge of secure coding practices and security in SDLC.

· Familiarity with various API security standards and best practices.

· Strong problem-solving skills and ability to think like an attacker.

· Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

· Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related field is preferred.
