Job Summary

Synechron is seeking a skilled Senior Java Developer to contribute to the development and maintenance of robust enterprise applications. The role is instrumental in delivering high-quality software solutions that meet business needs and support the organization's strategic growth. As a key member of our technical team, you will lead coding efforts, collaborate across departments, and ensure the timely delivery of innovative, scalable systems that provide measurable business value.

Software Requirements

Required:

• Java SE (version 11 or higher) – extensive proficiency
• Java EE or Jakarta EE frameworks – strong experience
• Integrated Development Environments (IDEs): IntelliJ IDEA, Eclipse – proficient use
• Version control systems: Git, GitHub – active experience
• Build tools: Maven, Gradle – solid understanding

Preferred:

• Microservices frameworks (Spring Boot, Quarkus) – hands-on experience
• Containerization and orchestration tools (Docker, Kubernetes)
• Application servers (Apache Tomcat, WildFly)
• Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) tools
• Database management tools (SQL Developer, pgAdmin)

Overall Responsibilities

• Lead the development, testing, and deployment of Java-based applications to fulfill business requirements.
• Design scalable, efficient, and maintainable code, adhering to best practices and organizational standards.
• Mentor junior team members, providing technical guidance and code reviews.
• Collaborate closely with product managers, analysts, and cross-functional teams to analyze requirements and formulate technical solutions.
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues, ensuring system stability and performance.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives by adopting new technologies and methodologies.
• Ensure compliance with security standards and contribute to documentation and testing efforts.
• Contribute to project planning, estimation, and delivery strategies to align with organizational goals.

Technical Skills (By Category)

Programming Languages (Required):

• Java (version 11 or higher) – essential for all development activities
• SQL / PL/SQL – for database interaction
• Preferred: JavaScript or TypeScript – for integration with frontend or API services

Databases/Data Management:

• Relational databases such as Oracle, MySQL, or PostgreSQL – proficiency in design and querying

Cloud Technologies:

• Basic understanding of cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) – deployment and integration experience

Frameworks and Libraries:

• Spring Boot, Hibernate – core frameworks for microservices and ORM
• Testing frameworks such as JUnit and Mockito

Development Tools and Methodologies:

• Agile/Scrum methodology familiarity
• Version control (Git) and branching strategies

• Knowledge of SSL/TLS, OAuth, and API security standards

Experience Requirements

• Minimum of 6 years of professional experience in Java development
• Demonstrated experience leading or mentoring development teams
• Proven success delivering Java-based enterprise applications, preferably in financial or large-scale environments
• Experience working within Agile/Scrum teams
• Familiarity with microservices architecture and cloud deployment practices
• Alternative experience pathways include extensive full-stack or backend development roles with leadership responsibilities in large organizations

Day-to-Day Activities

• Lead daily stand-ups and technical discussions with the development team
• Translate business needs into effective Java-based solutions
• Develop, review, and refine code for new applications or enhancements
• Conduct unit, integration, and system testing to validate functionality
• Collaborate with QA teams and business stakeholders for testing and deployment
• Troubleshoot production issues, ensuring minimal downtime
• Stay current with industry best practices and emerging technologies to innovate and improve systems
• Contribute to project planning and documentation tasks

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or relevant field; Master's degree preferred
• Advanced Java certifications (e.g., Oracle Certified Professional, Java SE 11 Developer) are desirable
• Evidence of ongoing professional development, including training, certifications, or participation in relevant industry events
