Role Description:

This role leverages domain and business process expertise to detail product requirements such as epics and user stories, along with supporting artifacts like business process maps, use cases, and test plans for the Tax product Team. In this vital role, you will be responsible for supporting the design, configuration, and implementation of indirect tax solutions. As a SAP Tax Analyst within the Technology team, this role will support the transition of global ERP instance on SAP ECC to the S/4HANA Intelligent Enterprise and integrating the Indirect Tax tools such as Vertex and SAP Document and Reporting compliance. Roles & Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with business partners to capture requirements and translate them into technical specifications
  • Support design and configure native tax processes in SAP S/4HANA ecosystem and integrating Vertex, addressing both input and output tax requirements
  • Ensure the SAP S/4HANA FICO and SAP Document and Reporting compliance solution configured meets business goals and leading practices
  • Capture the voice of the customer to define business processes and product needs
  • Conduct requirements reviews, solution proposals, and assessments to identify potential risks and recommend mitigations
  • Provide support to SAP users, including troubleshooting issues and providing training
  • Participate in sprint planning, reviews, and retrospectives to deliver and sustain Amgen''s S/4HANA ecosystem utilizing the Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe)
  • Develop innovative solutions that drive speed to value via AI/ML and leading control practices

Functional Skills:

Must-Have Skills:

  • Experience in SAP FICO and knowledge of global tax regulations, including VAT/GST, sales tax, and eTax regulations such as SAF-T
  • Knowledge in SAP Document and Reporting Compliance and Vertex solutions
  • Hands-on configuration experience in SAP FICO to meet business requirements
  • Perform regular maintenance and updates to SAP S/4 FICO and Tax systems to ensure optimal performance, including troubleshooting issues

Good-to-Have Skills:

  • Understanding of SAP Advanced Intercompany, SAP Material Ledger, and optimized transfer pricing setup in SAP
  • Experience in Tax tools (i.e. Thomson Reuters, Vertex, etc.)
  • Experience with Agile/Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) in SAP projects, promoting collaboration and iterative delivery of solutions

Professional Certifications :

  • Relevant SAP S/4HANA FICO certification (Mandatory)
  • Vertex Certification (preferred)
  • SAP Document and Reporting Compliance Certification (Preferred)

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work effectively with global, virtual teams
  • Team-oriented, with a focus on achieving team goals
  • Excellent analytical and troubleshooting skills
  • Collaborative mindset, working effectively within cross-functional teams to ensure successful delivery of SAP solutions

Basic Qualifications:

  • Masters degree with 4 - 6 years of relevant SAP experience or related IT experience OR
  • Bachelors degree with 3 - 5 years of relevant SAP experience or related IT experience OR
  • Diploma with 7 - 9 years of relevant SAP experience or related IT experience
