Duties and Responsibilities
Assessment: Conduct thorough assessments of individuals' dietary habits, health conditions, and nutritional needs through interviews, medical records, and other relevant sources.
Planning: Develop personalized nutrition plans based on the assessment findings, taking into account the individual's medical history, dietary preferences, cultural considerations, and lifestyle.
Education: Provide nutrition education to clients, patients, and the community, offering guidance on healthy eating habits, portion control, and the importance of a balanced diet.
Monitoring: Regularly monitor and evaluate clients' progress towards their nutritional goals, adjusting plans as necessary. Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive care.
Counseling: Offer counseling and support to individuals with specific dietary needs or conditions such as diabetes, obesity, cardiovascular diseases, and eating disorders.
Documentation: Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of client assessments, interventions, and outcomes. Ensure compliance with relevant healthcare and privacy regulations.
Research: Stay informed about the latest developments in nutrition science, research, and dietary trends. Integrate evidence-based practices into dietetic services.
Collaboration: Work collaboratively with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to provide integrated care and support for patients with complex medical conditions.
