Job Summary:We are seeking a detail-oriented and technically skilled HVAC Junior Draughtsman to assist in the preparation of HVAC design and shop drawings. The candidate will work closely with HVAC engineers and the MEP team to draft accurate layouts and coordinate HVAC systems with other disciplines.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare HVAC layout drawings including ductwork, piping, equipment locations, and schematic diagrams using AutoCAD or Revit MEP.
- Assist in developing detailed shop drawings based on design inputs and site requirements.
- Update and revise drawings according to engineering markups and coordination feedback.
- Ensure drawings comply with project specifications, industry standards, and local codes (ASHRAE, SMACNA, etc.).
- Coordinate with architectural, structural, plumbing, and electrical drawings to avoid service clashes.
- Maintain drawing logs and proper file organization.
- Assist in preparing as-built drawings and documentation during project close-out.
- Support quantity take-offs and basic calculations if required.
Requirements:
- ITI/Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or Draftsmanship with HVAC specialization preferred.
- 2-4 years of experience in HVAC or MEP drafting.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD is essential; knowledge of Revit MEP is an added advantage.
- Basic understanding of HVAC systems such as chilled water, VRF, DX, ventilation, and ducting.
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications.
- Good attention to detail and time management.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Familiarity with BIM workflows and clash detection tools (e.g., Navisworks).
- Understanding of HVAC design principles and site installation practices.
- Internship or site exposure in MEP or HVAC projects.
