Roles and Responsibilities :
Ø Assign appropriate ICD-10-CM, CPT, and
HCPCS Level II codes for ED encounters.
Ø Ensure coding accuracy and compliance
with federal regulations, payer policies
, and internal guidelines.
Ø Review clinical documentation to extract
relevant information for coding.
Ø Query providers when documentation is
unclear, incomplete, or ambiguous.
Ø Maintain up-to-date knowledge of coding
and billing regulations specific to
Emergency Medicine.
Ø Participate in audits and quality assurance
reviews as required.
Ø Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and
other healthcare professionals to ensure
high-quality documentation.
