Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled Quality Assurance Tester with 7-8 years of experience to join our team on a contractual basis. The ideal candidate will possess a strong blend of both Manual and Automation Testing expertise, with a proven track record of designing, developing, and executing comprehensive test strategies. This role requires a professional who is deeply familiar with Agile/Scrum methodologies and mandatory tools like BDD, Cucumber, and TestRail. You will be critical in ensuring the quality and reliability of our software products, working closely with cross-functional teams in a remote environment.

Key Responsibilities

Test Planning & Strategy (Manual & Automation)

• Review and Analysis: Review, analyze, and provide timely and meaningful feedback on complex requirements, specifications, and technical design documents.
• Test Artifact Creation: Create detailed, comprehensive, and well-structured Test Plans (Master and Functional) and executable Test Cases.
• Estimation & Prioritization: Estimate, prioritize, plan, and coordinate all phases of testing activities, including functional, integration, regression, and UAT.
• Process Development: Develop, apply, and govern rigorous testing processes for both new and existing products to meet stringent client quality needs and industry standards.

Test Execution & Automation

• Automation Design & Development: Design, develop, maintain, and execute robust automation scripts using appropriate open-source tools and frameworks.
• Manual Testing: Conduct thorough and exploratory manual testing across various platforms and environments as needed.
• Regression Management: Perform comprehensive and effective regression testing following bug fixes and new feature deployments to ensure stability.
• Tool Expertise: Implement and leverage mandatory tools such as Cucumber for BDD practices and TestRail for test case management and execution tracking.

Defect Management & Quality Tracking

• Bug Lifecycle Management: Identify, record, document thoroughly, and track bugs through their entire lifecycle, ensuring clear steps to reproduce, expected results, and actual results.
• Root Cause Analysis (RCA): Investigate the causes of non-conforming software, collaborating with development teams to implement corrective and preventative solutions.
• Metrics & Reporting: Track, analyze, and report on key quality assurance metrics, such as defect densities, open defect counts, test coverage, and execution status.

Collaboration & Communication

• Agile Collaboration: Actively participate in all Agile ceremonies (sprint planning, daily stand-ups, retrospectives, and backlog refinement).
• Stakeholder Liaison: Liaise effectively with internal teams, including developers, product managers, and business analysts, to clearly define and identify system requirements and technical dependencies.
• Process Improvement: Monitor and report on the debugging process results and stay current with new testing tools, technologies, and innovative test strategies to continuously improve the QA function.

Required Experience & Skills:

• Experience: Proven work experience of 7-8 years in Software Quality Assurance (QA).
• QA Fundamentals: Strong, in-depth knowledge of software QA methodologies, tools, and processes.
• Automation Expertise: Hands-on experience designing, implementing, and maintaining test automation frameworks and scripting (e.g., using Selenium, Cypress, Playwright, etc.).
• Mandatory Toolset: Demonstrated professional experience with:
• BDD (Behavior-Driven Development) principles.
• Cucumber or similar BDD tooling for test scenario creation and execution.
• TestRail or similar robust Test Management Systems for tracking and reporting.
• Testing Skills: Proficiency in writing clear, concise, and comprehensive test plans and test cases.
• SQL/Databases: Working knowledge of SQL and database testing.

Job Type: Contractual / Temporary

Contract length: 12 months

Pay: ₹100, ₹130,000.00 per month
