Role & responsibilities

  1. Network Design and Implementation:

  2. Design, configure, and deploy network solutions to meet business requirements.

  3. Develop network architecture and documentation, including diagrams and technical specifications.

  4. Implement and maintain network hardware and software components, including routers, switches, firewalls, load balancers, and VPNs.

  5. Network Troubleshooting and Support:

  6. Diagnose and resolve network issues using appropriate tools and methodologies.

  7. Provide level 3 support for escalated network problems, incidents, and service requests.

  8. Conduct root cause analysis and implement corrective actions to prevent network outages or performance degradation.

  9. Network Security:

  10. Implement and maintain network security measures, including firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems, and access control policies.

  11. Monitor network traffic for security threats and vulnerabilities, and take necessary actions to mitigate risks.

  12. Stay updated with the latest security trends and technologies, and recommend enhancements to ensure network security compliance.

  13. Network Performance and Optimization:

  14. Monitor network performance and proactively identify areas for improvement.

  15. Optimize network configurations and protocols to enhance performance and reliability.

  16. Conduct network capacity planning to ensure scalability and efficient resource utilization.

  17. Collaboration and Documentation:

  18. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand networking requirements and provide technical expertise.

  19. Document network configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting steps for knowledge sharing and future reference.
  20. Contribute to the development and implementation of network-related policies, standards, and best practices.

Preferred candidate profile

  • Bachelor's degree in Any stream.
  • Proven experience as a Network Engineer, preferably in a medium-level organization.
  • In-depth knowledge of network protocols, architectures, and technologies (TCP/IP, VLANs, VPNs, MPLS, BGP, OSPF, etc.).
  • Hands-on experience with network equipment such as routers, switches, firewalls, load balancers, etc.
  • Strong understanding of network security principles and practices.
  • Experience with network monitoring and troubleshooting tools.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Effective communication and collaboration abilities.
  • Relevant certifications such as CCNA, CCNP or equivalent are desirable.
