Shell is seeking a highly experienced, SAFe-certified Senior Scrum Master with 10+ years of overall IT experience to support delivery across complex, enterprise-scale digital platforms. The role requires deep expertise in Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe), strong servant leadership, and the ability to work with globally distributed, cross-functional teams while maintaining Shell s standards for safety, quality, and operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities

  • Act as Scrum Master for one or more Agile teams operating within a SAFe Agile Release Train (ART).

Facilitate and govern all Scrum events:

  • Sprint Planning
  • Daily Stand-ups
  • Sprint Reviews

  • Retrospectives

  • Coach teams on Agile, Scrum, Lean, and SAFe best practices, ensuring consistent adoption across Shell delivery teams.

  • Support PI Planning, Inspect & Adapt (I&A), System Demos, and cross-team coordination activities.
  • Identify, manage, and remove impediments, risks, and dependencies impacting delivery.
  • Partner closely with Product Owners, RTEs, Architects, Engineering Leads, and Business Stakeholders.
  • Promote predictable delivery, flow efficiency, and continuous improvement.
  • Track and report Agile metrics such as velocity, iteration goals, predictability, burn-down, and cycle time.
  • Ensure teams meet Shell s standards for quality, compliance, security, and safety.
  • Drive Agile maturity and cultural transformation within teams and across the ART.
  • Support effective usage of Agile tools such as JIRA, Confluence, Azure DevOps.

Required Skills & Experience

  • 10+ years of overall IT experience, with 5+ years as a Scrum Master.
  • SAFe Scrum Master (SSM / SASM) certification Mandatory.
  • Strong hands-on experience working in large-scale SAFe environments.
  • Proven experience supporting multiple teams and complex enterprise programs.

Strong understanding of:

  • Scrum & Kanban
  • Lean-Agile principles

  • Agile metrics & reporting

  • Experience working with global, multi-vendor delivery teams.

  • Excellent stakeholder management, facilitation, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in highly regulated, safety-critical environments.

Preferred / Nice to Have

Additional certifications:

  • SAFe Advanced Scrum Master (SASM)
  • SAFe Agilist (SA)

  • PMI-ACP / CSM / PSM

  • Prior experience with Shell or similar global energy / engineering enterprises.

  • Exposure to DevOps, CI/CD pipelines, cloud platforms, and digital transformation programs.
  • Experience working in GCC or large global delivery models.
