Role & responsibilities:
- Developing and implementing comprehensive EHS plans specific to the thermal power plant construction project, aligning with company policies, client requirements, and legal standards
- Ensuring compliance with Indian legal frameworks and international standards like OSHA, ISO Occupational Health & Safety), and ISO Environmental Management)
- Establishing and maintaining emergency preparedness and response procedures.
- Conducting regular site inspections and risk assessments to identify potential hazards throughout the construction phases (e.g., excavation, foundation, equipment erection, cable laying, testing).
- Investigating incidents and accidents to determine root causes and recommend corrective actions.
- Developing and delivering EHS training programs for all levels of personnel, including staff, subcontractors, and visitors.
- Promoting a strong safety culture through continuous communication and awareness campaigns
- Ensuring compliance with all applicable EHS regulations and company policies and Maintaining accurate EHS documentation and records
- Conducting regular audits and inspections to monitor EHS performance and identify areas for improvement.
- Collaborating with project teams, including operations, quality control, and human resources, to integrate EHS on the project.
- Liaising with external agencies for audits, inspections, and certifications
Skills:
Experience in thermal power plant construction or related industries
Ability to conduct risk assessments, investigations, and audits.
Digital EHS management systems, Software for reporting, tracking, investigating incidents, near misses & potential hazards.
Proficiency in developing and delivering training programs
Ability to work effectively in a team environment
