Role: Electrical Design & Integration Engineer (Delhi NCR Based)

Designation: Manager

Role Brief: Electrical Design & Integration engineer is responsible for designing, implementing, and optimizing battery energy storage solutions to meet project requirements. You will need to have understanding of electronics, firmware/software, and mechanical design for a seamless integration of energy and data between the components.

Tasks & Responsibilities: Responsible for project execution, leading technical tasks for on site planning and delivery.

1. Design

a. Understand client requirements and define the architecture needed

b. Preparing technical specifications for both on-grid and off-grid BESS.

c. Perform system sizing, layout, and configuration of Battery container layouts

d. Preparation of detailed calculation for major electrical equipment like transformer, AC UPS, Battery & Battery charger, Neutral grounding resistor, earthing, lighting, cable sizing, cable tray / trench sizing

e. Power subsystem design, include PDU (Power Distribution Unit), backup battery and charger, AC/DC, DC/DC power supply.

f. Specify and select appropriate AC/DC system equipment or components.

g. Model energy storage system performance, coordinate, obtain and integrate BMS, EMS and SCADA for the BESS.

h. Design electrical systems for Renewable Energy projects.

i. Perform calculations viz. fault level calculation, earthing, lightning protection, lighting, relay co-ordination, etc.

2. Project Management

a. Provide technical support and guidance for project planning, installation, and commissioning phases.

b. Integration of BMS, PCS, and different power-controlling units to enable reliable operation.

c. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate battery storage solutions with renewable energy systems.

d. Drive the technical due diligence from concept to commissioning.

e. Perform value engineering, engineering studies, prepare detailed estimates, cost analysis and as-built designs.

f. Leading Technical discussions with client, consultant, PMC, vendors and other stakeholders.

g. Coordinate with factory for complete packages for installation.

h. Evaluate supplier proposals and technical specifications to ensure compatibility and quality for procurement.

3. Compliance

a. Perform system testing and validation to ensure compliance with industry standards and safety regulations.

b. Investigates design factors such as function, durability, performance, efficiency, and contractual requirements.

c. Peer Review of design, drawings, documents.

4. Documentation

a. Prepare and present technical reports, documentation, and findings to stakeholders and team members.

b. Contribute to the development of innovative energy storage strategies and patents.

c. Develop single-line and three-line diagrams with required electrical details for the battery and power electronics system in accordance with technical standards.

d. Review of Single line diagram with protection and metering requirement.

e. Preparation of Concept Design Documents & Drawings, estimating BoQs at RFP stage & preparation of detailed BoQ during design.

Qualifications:

1. Degree in an Engineering (e.g., Electrical and electronic engineering / control engineering/Renewable energy)

2. A Master's degree is preferred.

3. Knowledge of a model-based development languages such as MATLAB/AutoCAD/SolidWorks/HomerPro/HomerGrid/PSSE/DigSilent/Power

Factory/ETAP/PSCAD

Work Experience: 6 to 8 years

1. Work experience in the energy sector on one or more relevant domains such as - Renewable Energy and Grid Integration; Energy Storage; Grid Modernization; Smart Grids/Micro Grids; Electric Vehicles and Charging Infrastructure; Advanced Metering Infrastructure (AMI); Cyber Security.

2. Experience in electrical design and engineering of power generation mix for microgrid/hybrid power systems with focus on Renewable energy.

3. Strong understanding of energy storage technologies and power electronics.

4. Knowledge on different applications of battery systems like power smoothening, ancillary services, peak shifting etc., and determination of battery profile, dispatch optimization for different applications.

5. Knowledge of industry standards (e.g., UL, NFPA, NEC, IEEE, IEC), regulations, and safety practices.

6. Experience in designing, sizing, procurement & selection of Power & distribution Transformers / UPS systems/BESS

7. Good understanding of mechanical aspects of a product (Thermal, IP, IK etc)

8. Experience in analysing RFP/ Tender Documents, Drawings, etc, raising of Pre-bid queries.

9. Experience in project planning, scheduling, and monitoring

10. Hands-on experience working with high voltage and high-power systems
