The Opportunity

We are looking for an experienced Staff Engineer to join our Product Engineering team. The ideal candidate will have deep, hands-on experience building and scaling complex software systems from scratch and a strong product mindset.

What You'll Do
Design, build, and deliver robust, scalable, and user-centric product features end-to-end - from ideation and architecture to deployment and monitoring.Collaborate cross-functionally with product managers, designers, and engineers to translate business goals into elegant and maintainable technical solutions.Architect and implement backend systems that power collaboration experiences across Postman's ecosystem, ensuring performance, reliability, and seamless integration with other core systems.Work on distributed systems that handle high throughput and low-latency workloads, enabling millions of developers to collaborate on APIs globally.Drive innovation in areas like search, recommendations, and core product services by leveraging modern technologies and data-driven insights.Champion engineering excellence - setting best practices in system design, code quality, observability, and scalability.Mentor and guide engineers, helping them grow technically while raising the overall bar of the team.Influence product direction by bringing a strong product mindset - balancing technical trade-offs with customer impact and business value.About You
9+ years of hands-on experience in software development, with proven end-to-end project ownership.Experience working in product-based technology companies, ideally with large-scale customer-facing systems.Strong understanding of distributed systems, search and recommendation systems, or large-scale data-driven products.Expertise in one or more modern programming languages — Java, Go, Python, C++, or Strong foundation in data structures, algorithms, and system design.Experience with microservices architecture, REST APIs, and cloud environments (AWS, GCP, or Azure).Excellent problem-solving and analytical thinking abilities.
