About The Opportunity
We operate in the clinical healthcare services sector, delivering high-quality inpatient and outpatient internal medicine, acute care, and chronic disease management to communities in coastal Karnataka. This role is for an on-site Consultant Physician to join a growing multidisciplinary hospital team in Mangalore, focusing on evidence-based clinical care, patient safety, and operational excellence.

Role & Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive inpatient and outpatient medical care for adult patients—admit, evaluate, diagnose, treat, and discharge with clear care plans.
• Lead ward rounds, coordinate multidisciplinary care with nursing, pharmacy, and allied teams, and oversee continuity of care including handovers.
• Manage acute and critical cases in ward/ICU and provide emergency on-call coverage as per roster.
• Perform and supervise bedside procedures as required, ensure accurate clinical documentation and timely electronic medical record (EMR) entries.
• Drive clinical governance activities: participate in audits, morbidity & mortality reviews, guideline implementation and patient-safety initiatives.
• Mentor junior doctors and trainees, contribute to continuous medical education, and support departmental growth and quality targets.

Skills & Qualifications
Must-Have

• MD (Internal Medicine) or DNB (Medicine) with active registration in India (Medical Council / State Medical Council).
• Proven clinical experience in internal medicine—strong skills in evaluation, diagnosis and management of complex medical conditions.
• Experience managing inpatients, coordinating multidisciplinary teams, and providing on-call emergency care.
• Competence in common bedside procedures and familiarity with ICU/critical-care protocols.
• Excellent clinical documentation, patient communication skills, and adherence to clinical governance and safety standards.
• Comfortable working on-site in a fast-paced hospital environment and using EMR systems.

Preferred

• 2+ years post-consultant clinical experience in a hospital setting or demonstrated specialist exposure during residency/fellowship.
• Experience with telemedicine consultations, clinical audit, or quality-improvement projects.
• Familiarity with local referral networks in Karnataka and community health pathways.
