Key responsibilities
- Production scheduling and planning: Develop and implement detailed production plans, schedules, and work orders based on sales forecasts and plant capacity.
- Inventory management: Monitor stock levels of raw materials (like wood logs, veneers) and finished goods, coordinating with procurement to ensure timely and cost-effective sourcing.
- Cross-functional coordination: Work with other departments, including sales, procurement, logistics, and quality control, to ensure production aligns with demand and quality standards.
- Performance monitoring and improvement: Track production progress, identify inefficiencies, and make real-time adjustments to schedules as needed. Implement continuous improvement initiatives to optimize processes and reduce costs.
- Quality assurance: Ensure that products meet quality standards and customer specifications, and manage the reconciliation of work orders.
- Reporting and data analysis: Analyze production data to identify trends and areas for improvement, and prepare regular reports on production performance for senior management.
- Team leadership: Lead and mentor a team of production planning and control staff, ensuring their performance and professional development.
- Compliance: Ensure all production activities comply with safety regulations and legal requirements.
