Position Overview

Mithra Institute of Management Studies (MIMS) invites applications from qualified and experienced educators for the position of Faculty in Economics, Accounting, Finance & Quantitative Techniques under the UGC-approved BBA Programme.

The ideal candidate will demonstrate academic excellence, a student-centered teaching approach, and the ability to integrate financial, economic, and analytical concepts to prepare learners for leadership in business and management.

Key Responsibilities

Teaching & Learning

• Deliver undergraduate courses in Micro and Macro Economics, Financial Accounting, Management Accounting, Corporate Finance, Banking & Financial Markets, Business Statistics, Quantitative Techniques, and related subjects.
• Design and implement lesson plans, tutorials, case studies, and assignments aligned with course and programme outcomes.
• Integrate theoretical knowledge with practical business applications, using case-based and technology-enhanced teaching methods.
• Conduct internal assessments, mentor students academically, and support their project or research work.
• Promote financial literacy, analytical skills, and economic awareness among BBA students.

Curriculum Development & Quality Assurance

• Contribute to syllabus review, course content updating, and alignment with UGC/University academic framework.
• Prepare course files, CO-PO mapping, and maintain student performance records as per IQAC requirements.
• Participate in institutional quality assurance, NAAC documentation, and accreditation activities.

Research, Consultancy & Extension

• Engage in research activities, publish in reputed journals, and present at academic conferences.
• Collaborate on consultancy projects, industry linkages, and academic–industry partnerships.
• Guide students in finance and economics-related projects, promoting practical problem-solving and innovation.

Institutional & Student Engagement

• Organize guest lectures, seminars, and workshops on economics, finance, and business analytics.
• Participate in faculty development programs, academic committees, and community outreach initiatives.
• Contribute to placement and career support initiatives through industry interactions and training.

Qualifications & Experience

Essential Qualifications:

• Master's Degree in Economics, Commerce, Finance, Business Administration, or Statistics with minimum 55% marks (or equivalent grade).
• Strong subject command in Economics, Accounting, and Finance, with working knowledge of quantitative methods.

Desirable Qualifications:

• Ph.D. / M.Phil. in relevant specialization.
• UGC-NET / SET qualification.
• Certification or exposure in Financial Analytics, Investment Management, Data Analysis, or Banking Operations.

Experience:

• 2–5 years of teaching experience in higher education (BBA / B.Com / BA Economics / MBA levels).
• Prior experience handling subjects in both economics and finance streams will be an advantage.
• Exposure to academic administration or industry-based teaching preferred.

Core Skills & Competencies

• Excellent communication and presentation skills in English.
• Expertise in financial and statistical tools (MS Excel, SPSS, R, or similar software).
• Innovative teaching techniques (case method, flipped classroom, simulations).
• Research aptitude with evidence of publications or conference participation.
• Student mentorship and academic advising capability.
• Team collaboration and commitment to institutional values.
