About the role

Join us in building the core backend infrastructure that powers the next generation of legal AI—enabling advanced search, intelligent drafting, and workflow automation at scale. This is a highly technical role with the opportunity to grow into a founding engineer track. We offer market-competitive salary + ESOPs.

Location
: Hyderabad, India — in-person (onsite only).

What you'll do


• Design and build scalable, well-tested FastAPI services and internal APIs.


• Own data and storage layers on PostgreSQL (schema design, indexing, query tuning, migrations).


• Lead AWS-heavy deployments (e.g., ECS/EKS or Lambda, S3, RDS, CloudFront, IAM) and IaC (Terraform/CloudFormation).


• Productionize AI features: wire up transformer/NLP pipelines, embeddings, vector search, and model-serving endpoints.


• Drive performance, security, and observability (tracing, metrics, structured logging, alerts).


• Collaborate closely with product/ML to ship end-to-end features in fast iterations.

Must-have qualifications


• B.Tech in Computer Science (or related field). M.Tech/PhD is a plus.


• Strong proficiency in Python and FastAPI, with deep experience building production APIs/services.


• Hands-on expertise with PostgreSQL and AWS (you've owned production systems).


• Solid CS fundamentals: data structures, algorithms, distributed systems, networking.


• AI fundamentals—especially transformers and NLP—and experience integrating models into products.


• Evidence of rigor: Demonstrated depth in AI/ML or systems, shown through published research papers or equivalent large-scale industry projects.

Nice to have


• Model serving stacks (Hugging Face, vLLM/Triton), embeddings/vector DBs (pgvector, OpenSearch, Pinecone).


• Eventing/streaming (Kafka/SQS), caching (Redis), queues/background workers (Celery/RQ).


• CI/CD ownership, containerization (Docker), and Kubernetes.


• Security best practices (secrets management, least-privilege IAM, threat modeling).


• Document processing pipelines (PDF/HTML), retrieval-augmented generation.
