Title: Proofreader - (Hindi to English & English to Hindi)

Location: Gurugram

Looking for Education Background experience

Education: B.Ed with Translating experience

Mandatory Science and Maths background in education

Pay Terms: Contract/6months- Possibility to extend

Scope of work – Support in reviewing/proofreading (Hindi to English & English to Hindi) translated content.

Review, check, and proofread the translated contents (both OST and VO) in context of teacher training digital modules

Responsibilities:

  1. Review links along with original content shall be provided by client
  2. Proofread/review the translated content (English) comparing it with the original (Hindi) content such that the meaning/essence remains the same.
  3. Do comparative Reading and Listening
  4. Ensure that contextual understanding remains the same
  5. Check for Grammar, spelling, and any other syntax errors
  6. Ensure Consistency/uniformity is maintained
  7. Quality of voiceover – pronunciation etc.
  8. Ensure that over –all no meaning is lost in translation; no graphic is missed.
  9. Record all issues/suggestions/feedback and ensure the same are incorporated (in the form of excels, articulate links or PDFs)

Qualification:

  • Native fluency in Hindi and English, with exceptional reading and writing skills in both languages.
  • Mastery of Manak Hindi spelling conventions.
  • Experience working in the education sector, preferably at the school or teacher training level.
  • Ability to accurately translate between Hindi and English while preserving the original meaning and nuances.
  • Strong understanding of Hindi grammar and vocabulary, able to justify word choice and spelling decisions.
