Position Overview:

The Façade Design Team Leader will be responsible for both
leading the façade design team
and
working hands-on as a Senior Design Engineer
. The role requires strong technical expertise in façade system design, shop drawings, fabrication drawings, BOM preparation, and design scheduling. In addition, the individual will guide and mentor the team, ensuring that all design deliverables are accurate, on time, and aligned with the overall façade project schedule.

Key Roles & Responsibilities:

Technical Design & Engineering

  • Prepare and review
    shop drawings, fabrication drawings, and installation details
    for façade systems.
  • Develop and finalize
    Bill of Materials (BOMs)
    for procurement and manufacturing.
  • Prepare
    design schedules
    and align deliverables with the overall project schedule.
  • Ensure all design outputs meet structural, thermal, acoustic, and aesthetic requirements.
  • Coordinate with structural consultants for load transfer, anchorage, and system performance.

Team Leadership & Management

  • Lead, supervise, and mentor the façade design team, allocating tasks and monitoring progress.
  • Review team outputs (drawings, BOMs, calculations) for accuracy and compliance.
  • Conduct regular design review meetings and provide feedback to improve team efficiency.
  • Build technical capacity in the team through training and guidance.

Project Coordination & Stakeholder Management

  • Collaborate with project managers, site teams, architects, consultants, and clients to ensure alignment.
  • Present design solutions and coordinate approvals from stakeholders.
  • Resolve design queries during manufacturing and installation stages.
  • Ensure timely communication of design revisions and changes.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil / Mechanical / Architecture or related discipline (Master's degree preferred).
  • 8–12 years of experience in façade design, including
    shop drawings, fabrication drawings, BOM, and design scheduling
    .
  • Minimum 3–5 years of experience in a senior / lead role managing a design team.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, HICAD, SolidWorks, and structural analysis tools.

Key Skills Required:

  • Strong technical expertise in façade systems (unitized, stick, curtain wall, ACP, skylights, glazing, louvers, etc.).
  • Hands-on expertise in
    shop drawings, fabrication drawings, BOM preparation, and design schedules
    .
  • Leadership and team management skills.
  • Excellent communication and coordination abilities.
  • Strong problem-solving, detail orientation, and accountability.
