Role & responsibilities-

We are seeking an experienced Oracle Database Administrator (DBA) to join our IT team. The Oracle DBA will be responsible for the installation, configuration, maintenance, and performance tuning of Oracle databases. This role requires strong expertise in database architecture, backup/recovery strategies, security, and high availability solutions. The ideal candidate will also work closely with developers, system administrators, and business stakeholders to ensure databases operate efficiently, securely, and reliably.

Key Responsibilities

Install, configure, and upgrade Oracle databases (versions 11g, 12c, 19c, or later).

Monitor and maintain database performance, implementing performance tuning and optimization strategies.

Implement and manage database backup, recovery, and disaster recovery plans.

Manage Oracle RAC, ASM, Data Guard, and GoldenGate environments.

Administer user accounts, roles, privileges, and database security policies.

Troubleshoot and resolve database issues, ensuring minimal downtime and high availability.

Automate routine DBA tasks using scripts and tools.

Collaborate with developers to design, optimize, and implement database schemas, queries, and stored procedures.

Apply patches and ensure databases are compliant with organizational security standards.

Conduct capacity planning and database health checks to support future growth.

Document database configurations, processes, and procedures.

Qualifications

Education: Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field (or equivalent work experience).

Experience:

5+ years of hands-on experience as an Oracle DBA.

Proven experience with Oracle RAC, ASM, RMAN, and Data Guard.

Strong knowledge of SQL and PL/SQL.
