Job DescriptionThis is an exciting opportunity for a Data Scientist to deliver high-value analytics solutions for the Version 1 AI Labs. This provides a unique opportunity for people who are passionate about technology and have a deep commitment to code quality and best practices to build something special and make a real difference to our business and to our customer's business.
You will have strong experience in building solutions using a variety of open-source tools and exposure to Python, Spark, NLP, Transformers and a proven track record in delivering high-quality work to tight deadlines.
The successful candidate will work on a wide range of projects across both traditional AI techniques (e.g. machine learning, predictive modelling, and NLP) and the latest advances in multimodal large language models, including those for image, video, and text generation or understanding.
The role will require a data scientist with excellent communication skills, that is willing to continuously learn and listen. Creative problem solving and a keen understanding of how predictive analytics can be leveraged in business processes are a must. We're looking for a data scientist that is inherently curious, driven, willing to learn & develop, with an owning the problem and self-starter attitude.
QualificationsEssential:
- Excellent communication skills, including written and oral English language skills
- Minimum 3+ years of experience in a Data Scientist role
- Graduate degree in Data Science, Statistics, or another quantitative field.
- Solid understanding of Spark
- Strong foundation in statistics
- Solid understanding of metrics and their usage.
- Expert programming skills in Python and SQL and with relevant Data Science & ML frameworks (Scikit-learn, Pandas, PyTorch, etc)
- Deep understanding of statistical and ML algorithms, methodologies and approaches, and with deep learning & LLMs (Gen AI).
- Experience with working with either Azure/AWS Cloud Environments.
- Python conventions, writing clean code and testing functionality
- Ability to work to own initiative and without heavy oversight
- Must show evidence of your passion for technology and continuous learning
Desirable:
- Familiarity with Huggingface
- Familiarity with Databricks
- Familiarity finetuning LLM.
- Experience working with Azure OpenAI, AWS Bedrock.
- Experience working with offshore team Consultancy experience
