Key Responsibilities:

• Current Platform Management (WordPress):
• Own the end-to-end management, maintenance, and optimization of our current WordPress websites, ensuring high availability, speed, and security.
• Collaborate with marketing and content teams to implement new features, landing pages, and templates using tools like Elementor and custom theme development.
• Execute technical SEO strategies, conduct regular audits, and resolve performance bottlenecks to maximize organic visibility and user experience.
• Serve as the primary point of contact for troubleshooting and resolving any website issues.

Platform Evolution:

• Lead the evaluation, selection, and business case development for a new enterprise CMS that aligns with our Azure-first cloud strategy.
• Architect the solution for the new platform, designing a scalable, secure, and high-performance foundation for our future digital growth.
• Develop a comprehensive migration plan, including content mapping, technical implementation, QA testing, and launch.
• Lead the hands-on development and implementation of the new website on the chosen platform, establishing best practices for code quality and documentation.

Team Leadership & Mentorship:

• Mentor and guide our current WordPress developer, creating a structured upskilling plan to enable their transition to the new CMS and development stack.
• Foster a collaborative environment, translating business requirements from marketing stakeholders into technical specifications for development.
• Champion modern web development standards, including component-based design, CI/CD pipelines, and API-first principles.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in computer science or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
• 5-7+ years of progressive experience in web development, with a strong portfolio of managing and building complex websites.
• Demonstrated experience successfully leading a website migration project from one CMS platform to another (e.g., WordPress to a Headless or DXP solution).
• Expert-level proficiency with PHP and the WordPress ecosystem (theme/plugin development, hooks, APIs).
• Strong proficiency in front-end technologies: HTML5, CSS3, and modern JavaScript, including experience with a framework like , React, or
• Solid understanding of Headless/Decoupled architecture and experience working with APIs (REST, GraphQL).
• Experience deploying and managing web applications on cloud platforms, with a strong preference for Microsoft Azure.
• Deep knowledge of technical SEO principles and implementation.
• Proven ability to mentor junior developers and lead technical projects.
• Excellent problem-solving, communication, and project management skills.

Core Programming & Web Technologies:

• JavaScript (ES6+): Deep proficiency is non-negotiable.
• Front-End Frameworks: Hands-on experience with or React.
• Backend Languages: Expertise in PHP (for managing the current WordPress site) and ideally, experience or a strong willingness to work with C# / .NET (for platforms like Umbraco).
• APIs: Proven ability to design, consume, and integrate with REST and GraphQL APIs.
• Markup & Styling: Mastery of HTML5, CSS3, and pre-processors like SASS.

CMS & Platform Architecture:

• Legacy CMS: Expert-level knowledge of the WordPress ecosystem (theme/plugin development, database structure, WP REST API).
• Modern CMS: Direct experience with Headless CMS principles and platforms (e.g., , Strapi, Contentful) and/or .NET-based CMS (e.g., Umbraco).
• Database: Experience with MySQL and a working knowledge of Microsoft SQL Server.

Cloud & DevOps:

• Cloud Platform: Demonstrable experience deploying and managing applications on Microsoft Azure, specifically with services like Azure App Service, Azure Static Web Apps, and Azure Functions.
• CI/CD: Experience setting up and managing continuous integration and deployment pipelines using Azure DevOps or GitHub Actions.
• Infrastructure as Code (IaC): Familiarity with tools like ARM templates or Terraform is a significant plus.

Integrations & Technical SEO:

• Marketing Tech: Experience integrating websites with CRM and Marketing Automation APIs, particularly Salesforce and HubSpot.

• Technical SEO: In-depth knowledge of schema markup, site performance optimization (Core Web Vitals), crawlability, and server-side rendering (SSR).

• Experience with .NET-based CMS platforms (e.g., Optimizely, Sitecore, Umbraco).

• Experience setting up and managing hosting environments in Azure (App Service, Static Web Apps, etc.).
