The Opportunity
Arup is seeking an experienced Task Team Senior PHE to join our growing team in Bangalore, India. This candidate will be responsible for leading the design development, coordination, and management of Plumbing design models across all project stages. This role ensures Plumbing systems are accurately modelled, coordinated with other disciplines, and compliant with client and project standards. This person works closely with Plumbing engineers, BIM Managers, architects, and other stakeholders to deliver high-quality and data-rich models to support design delivery.
The ideal candidate would be a design-led, three-dimensional thinker who places creativity and spatial problem-solving at the heart of their approach - with BIM capability as a supporting skill, not the driver.
This individual must be able to interpret and draw information into the model in a technically sound, engineering-led manner, using the model as both a design coordination tool and a powerful medium of communication.
The ideal candidate will serve as a design integrator - someone who can think in 3D, proactively identify and resolve technical coordination challenges, and lead strategic planning discussions before modelling begins. They will be instrumental in bringing engineers together to define strategies, establish design intent, and enable seamless coordination across disciplines, ensuring that modelling is efficient, integrated, and robust from the outset.
As a Task Team Senior PHE at Arup, you will lead the coordination of plumbing and public health engineering (PHE) models—including domestic water, drainage, and sprinkler systems—ensuring integration with other services for accessibility, maintenance, and constructability. You'll manage 3D coordination using Revit, Navisworks, and Construction Cloud, collaborate with design engineers from concept to detailed design, and represent stakeholders in coordination meetings. Your role also includes ensuring high-quality, BIM-compliant model submissions, performing QA/QC checks, and preparing models for internal reviews and coordination sessions.
If this role right for you?
We are looking for someone who has:
- Minimum Bachelors Degree or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
- Extensive experience in PHE design across various project types.Proven expertise in spatial coordination within Plumbing design, with a strong track record of delivering high-quality, efficient, and compliant solutions.
- Knowledge of British Standards, ASHRAE, UPC, CIBSE, NFPA, UAE & KSA codes and local regulations.
- Minimum of 5+ years of design coordination experience in PHE design. (preferably experienced in project delivery in the Middle East)
- Experience working in a design consultancy with a proven track record in delivering projects in collaboration with remote design centres.
- Proficiency in Autodesk Revit, AutoCAD, Navisworks Manage, and BIM 360 / ACC. (preferably certified as Autodesk Certified Professional)
- Strong understanding of PHE engineering systems and terminology.
