The Automotive R&D Specialist will be responsible for developing new automotive paint formulations, including shades, primers, and industrial paints. The role involves conducting research, evaluating raw materials, exploring alternative components, and ensuring the development of high-quality, durable paint products.

The candidate will work closely with automotive painters and color matching teams to ensure precise shade development and application suitability. Key responsibilities include shade matching, raw material assessment, new product development, and supporting innovation initiatives within the automotive paints division.

Project Execution

  1. Execute the project and ensure the project timelines are being met

  2. Documentation of project is complete and done on time

  3. New shade development according to the industry requirements

  4. To explore alternate raw material

  5. Make effective plans to scale up manufacturing plants

  6. Cost targets and quality targets are being met

  7. Participate in project reviews effectively

  8. Ensuring the assigned tasks are completed on time by the technical officers

Technical Support

  1. Conduct experiments for investigation and identification of root causes for design

  2. New Paint formulation and paint development

  3. Carry out shade matching process

  4. Good shade matching skills and spray application experience

  5. Related customer complaints & plants issues referred by manufacturing plants

  6. Visit customer line and resolve the issues

  7. Conduct testing (paint /Intermediate)

  8. Raw Material Evaluation

  9. Establish existing & new products at customer site

  10. Guide team members which includes officers, in day to day activities

Data Management

  1. Project data documentation is complete and accurate

  2. Ensure Knowledge Management entries are made on time

  3. Regularly access KM database to improve knowledge

  4. Make SAP entries accurately and on time

  5. Updating of shade panel library with new shades developed in group

  6. Update additive database

  7. Regularly updating on contest

  8. Ensure proper execution of tinting system

Equipment / Asset Care

  1. Maintain equipment cleanliness & 5S in working area

  2. Maintain calibration and preventive maintenance of equipment in working area

  3. Abnormality analysis and resolution

Innovation

  1. Should be inclined towards global competition

Ensure learning from own projects and problem solving are captured and documented
