Patancheru Hyderabad Telangana, India Craftsville Full time ₹ 4,20,000 per year

Role Overview:

The Cutlist Designer is responsible for transforming approved design drawings into accurate production-ready documents. This role bridges design, production, and management — ensuring seamless coordination, optimized material usage, and transparent communication from drawing receipt to final dispatch. The position demands both technical precision and cross-functional collaboration to maintain Craftsville's commitment to quality, efficiency, and client satisfaction.

Required Experience- 2- 3 years

Key Responsibilities:

1. Input Review & Documentation

  • Receive and review approved design drawings, hardware lists, and material specifications from the Design/Estimation team.
  • Verify that all inputs are final, accurate, and aligned with project requirements before initiating cutlist preparation.
  • Maintain organized documentation for all production drawings, revisions, and communications.

2. Cutlist & BOM Preparation

  • Prepare detailed module-wise cutlists for kitchens, wardrobes, and other furniture.
  • Apply accurate deductions for material thickness and hardware allowances.
  • Prepare complete Bill of Materials (BOM), hardware lists, and edge banding lists.
  • Define grain direction, edge banding sides, and board optimization plans.
  • Assign appropriate material codes (e.g., MDF 18mm, BSL 1mm, HPL) as per factory standards.

3. Optimization & Validation

  • Use software tools or manual nesting methods to achieve material optimization and minimize wastage.
  • Cross-verify all sizes, quantities, and edge band details.
  • Ensure cutlists align with hardware specifications, production feasibility, and assembly methods.
  • Maintain revision logs and track version changes for every project.

4. Communication & Coordination

  • Coordinate with the Design Team for design clarifications and corrections.
  • Collaborate with Production and Purchase Teams regarding material shortages, substitutions, or updates.
  • Maintain close communication with the CTO for client communications and new technology adoption.
  • Escalate major doubts or project concerns promptly to the CEO and maintain transparency with the Board Members.
  • Post regular progress updates in the designated internal groups.

5. Quality Assurance

  • Perform quality checks between Cutlist, BOQ, and design drawings.
  • Verify grain directions, shutter alignments, and hardware placements before production release.
  • Visit site locations when necessary to validate fitment accuracy with the person-in-charge.
  • Track and report weekly optimization and wastage data.

6. Compliance & System Usage

  • Use only company-provided devices for client or vendor communication unless explicitly approved otherwise.
  • Follow company documentation, data-sharing, and storage protocols.
  • Manage the entire file lifecycle — from Pre-Production → Production → Dispatch — ensuring complete traceability.

7. Reporting & Record Management

  • Submit daily progress reports to the Production Manager.
  • Maintain digital and printed archives of all project files, including cutlists, BOMs, and optimization reports.
  • Continuously improve documentation practices and contribute to the evolution of Craftsville's AI and ERP systems.

Skill Requirements:

  • Strong understanding of modular furniture design and production workflows.
  • Proficiency in CAD tools, cutlist generation software, or nesting optimization tools.
  • Knowledge of materials (plywood, MDF, laminates, edge bands, etc.) and hardware systems.
  • Excellent documentation, communication, and coordination skills.
  • Attention to detail with a problem-solving mindset.
  • Work closely with the Managing Director for any site-level or operational issues.
