Position Overview:

System Engineer Passenger Access Doors (Automatic) – Rolling Stock : Skilled System Engineer to lead the technical aspects of passenger access door systems for rolling stock projects across Indian Railways and Metro segments. The candidate will manage the full project lifecycle—from bid to execution—ensuring compliance with customer specifications, industry standards, and internal quality benchmarks.

Experience Required: Minimum 5 years to maximum 10 years of experience in system engineering, in rolling stock (Indian Railways & Metro – Mass Transit and Long-Distance Segments)

Qualification: Bachelor's degree in mechanical / electrical or equivalent

Recommended Target Organizations (if any): Faiveley, Alstom, CAF, Siemens

Key Responsibilities:

  • Project Execution and Documentation
  • Lead the technical scope of door system projects, from tendering to execution and warranty phases. Handling various customers, working in co-ordination with project manager and product engineering team to secure the business. Knowledge of Railways-Metro standards/ guidelines is a must.
  • Prepare technical documentation for bids and project execution.
  • Finalize bill of materials, technical offers, and cost summaries.
  • Act as the technical Single Point of Contact (SPOC) for internal teams and customers.
  • Deliver product presentations and training to customers.
  • Prepare system descriptions, finalize preventive maintenance plans, and lead design freeze activities.
  • System Definition
  • Develop internal specifications, requirements, and interface definitions for internal and cross-functional teams in line with contractual scope during technical kick off.
  • Customize and parameterize generic solutions to meet QCDP (Quality, Cost, Delivery, Performance) targets.
  • Validate technical design choices in collaboration with internal and global teams across multiple projects.
  • Compliance & Standards
  • Ensure all deliverables meet customer requirements as contractually agreed, including clause-by-clause compliance with specifications, while adhering to applicable safety, reliability, and regulatory standards.
  • Know-how of applicable RDSO specifications, customer specifications, IR guidelines, and international standards such as EN14752, UIC566, EN45545-2, EN50126, EN50128, EN50129 etc.
  • Prepare and review clause-by-clause comments on customer specifications.
  • Stakeholder Management
  • Collaborate with internal teams (RAMS, software, project engineering, sales), global teams and external stakeholders.
  • Lead and support installation and commissioning in collaboration with service and software teams, ensuring system readiness for passenger service.
  • Participate in engineering change management as part of cross functional team.
  • Support cross functional team for complaint resolution of technical issues during warranty phase.

Preferred Skills:

  • Understanding of mechanical drawings (2D), electrical schematics, knowledge of CAD software
  • Experience with organization tools such as PLM, Windchill, SAP (Sales and PPM Module).
  • Strong command of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
