Role Description:

This is a full-time, paid on-site role for a Public Policy Intern located in Satara. The Public Policy Intern will be responsible for assisting in policy analysis, developing and maintaining government relations, supporting legislative relations, and conducting research. The intern will also work on various governance initiatives and contribute to communication efforts through media and stakeholder engagement.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct
    secondary research
    on policy issues, government schemes, and industry trends.
  • Assist in
    drafting policy briefs, reports, and discussion papers
    for internal and external audiences.
  • Support
    data analysis and visualization
    to generate actionable policy insights.
  • Track and summarize
    legislative, regulatory, and institutional developments
    relevant to ongoing projects.
  • Contribute to
    stakeholder mapping
    and assist in preparing materials for meetings, consultations, and workshops.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to
    design and evaluate public programs and interventions
    .
  • Support
    communication and outreach efforts
    , including writing articles, blogs, or social media posts on policy topics.

Required Qualifications:

  • Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in
    Public Policy, Economics, Political Science, Development Studies, Law, Management
    , or a related field.
  • Strong analytical, research, and writing skills.
  • Familiarity with
    policy research methods
    , government processes, and public sector functioning.
  • Proficiency in
    MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
    ; experience with
    data tools (Excel, Tableau, or R)
    is a plus.
  • Excellent communication and organizational abilities.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience in writing policy notes, briefing papers, or reports.
  • Understanding of
    Indian governance structures
    and
    public policy landscape
    .
  • Exposure to
    consulting, think tank, or government internship projects
    will be an added advantage.
