Role Description

We are looking for a highly skilled Mobile App Developer (Android & iOS) to build a short video-based social platform inspired by Instagram and TikTok. The core feature will allow users to upload multiple 5-second clips recorded throughout their day, compile them into a single video, add background audio, text/subtitles, save drafts, and publish them. The developer will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining a smooth, secure, and scalable mobile application. The initial MVP should support 20 user profiles, with future scalability in mind.

Key Responsibilities

  • Video Upload & Editing: Enable users to upload multiple short clips (5 seconds each), arrange them in sequence, and merge them into one video.
  • Audio & Text Features: Integrate options for adding background music, text overlays, and subtitles to compiled videos.
  • Drafts & Publishing: Implement draft-saving functionality so users can revisit, edit, and publish later.
  • Profiles & Feeds: Build user profile functionality, with a basic video feed for published clips.
  • Media Processing: Use efficient compression and CDN integration to ensure smooth upload, storage, and playback.
  • Performance Optimization: Deliver a seamless video editing and streaming experience across devices.
  • Security & Scalability: Ensure secure logins, encrypted data storage, and scalability beyond the initial 20 users.

Qualifications

  • Strong expertise in Flutter, React Native, Swift (iOS), and Kotlin (Android).
  • Proven experience with video editing libraries/tools (e.g., FFmpeg, AVFoundation).
  • Knowledge of Firebase, AWS Amplify, or Google Cloud for authentication, storage, and scalability.
  • Familiarity with draft-saving, timeline editing, and social media features.
  • Prior experience developing video-centric apps (social, editing, or streaming).
  • Solid understanding of data security, encryption, and cloud-based scalability.
