vConstruct is a Pune based Construction Technology Company seeking process-oriented individuals with academic background in the field of Construction through Civil Engineering/Architecture/Construction Management for the role of Project Engineer.

We are looking for highly motivated individuals who have an interest in Construction Technology and want to build a career in BIM Enabled Project Management. These individuals are expected to be good at problem-solving and figuring out the unknowns when given a problem statement. Upon successful joining, the individual will be provided with initial training courses and on-the-job training to help them succeed in this role.

About Virtual Builder Business Unit:

Virtual Builder Group works as a part of integrated team with the General Contractors and Subcontractors in managing the projects through the construction lifecycle. With our efficient construction technology workflows spread across the phases of bidding, preconstruction, execution, and closeout, we have been working to deliver work products in a competitive turnaround timeframe, allowing the field team to be channeled towards site execution. Looking out for the future we are driven towards making the construction processes optimal and better, with a vision of automation and predictive analysis by leveraging the historical data.

Responsibility & Focus Areas:

Upon successful selection, the individual will join one of the following clusters of Virtual Builder and work on real time projects and problems on the projects:

Planning – This includes the Planning related process right from the pursuit through the precon and construction phase of the project. Some processes are Pursuit Modeling, Logistic Planning, Visual Planning and Production Tracking. The cluster plays a crucial role in helping the customers win the right project and plan it well.

Costing – This cluster focuses on cost estimation and bid management during the pursuit and preconstruction phases of a project, with the purpose of bringing cost certainty to the projects. Key processes include parametric estimating, quantity take-offs using drawings and models, developing cost estimates, tracking variances, creating and managing subcontractor bids, and reviewing receivedbids. The cluster plays a crucial role in setting up the right budget to ensure effective downstream project execution.

Building Services & Reality Capture – This cluster focuses on translating the initial Building Services (MEPF) design into construction, by developing high fidelity models, enabling the field teams to Build it Right the First time. The models we build serve as the single source of truth to identify and mitigate constructability/compliance issues firsthand. The processes include, Model Authoring, Constructability Reviews, Coordination , Field deliverables and Capturing the As-built Conditions through the processes of Reality Capture.

Architectural & Structure – This cluster focuses on translating the initial Architectural and Structural design into construction, by developing high fidelity models, enabling the field teams to Build it Right the First time. The models we build serve as the single source of truth to identify and mitigate constructability/compliance issues firsthand. The processes include , Model Authoring, Constructability Review, Coordination and providing deliverables to the field for installation/fabrication.

Operations – This cluster focuses on Protecting the Plan along with Measurement and Controls for successful execution during the construction phase and smooth handover at closeout. Key workflows include Construction Documents and Design Review, Model Management and Coordination, Project Controls by Managing Information and Changes.

General Expectations:

• Quality Assurance - Check the quality of work for accuracy before submissions to client teams. Meet quality metrics established for project.
• Understanding any new Scope of work, processes and platforms coming up with a workflow and documenting it once approved with the project team. Can be followed by training concerning team members.
• Creating/developing best practices and workflow and sharing them with team members
• Training and coaching other team members, doing technical training of new hires.
• Ability to learn quickly and independently with minimal supervision.
• A strong work ethic and a "can-do" attitude
• Effective participation in team environment
• Excellent listening skills and have strong communication skills.
• Familiarity with construction documents and terminology
• With an outlook to find ways for innovation, optimization in day-to-day tasks.
• Responsibility includes but is not limited to the above-mentioned items.

Skills and Qualifications:

We are looking for a driven, detail-oriented, collaborative team player with the ability to manage multiple tasks, produce quality work, and consistently meet deadlines. The successful candidate will possess:

• Candidates having B.E. / B.Tech. or higher Degree in Civil or Construction related field.
• A working knowledge of BIM Coordination, Project Management, Change Management and Constructability is preferable.
• Understanding of the overall construction process ranging from Design to commissioning.
• Working knowledge of any prominent VDC software like Revit, Navisworks, Tekla and Civil 3D is desired.
