Sr Manager Software Development Engineering

What you will do

In this vital role you will harness the power of data leveraging digital technologies to serve the need of Manufacturing and Clinical Supply Chain. The Sr Manager Software Engineering is responsible for leading the design, development, and maintenance of software applications and solutions that meet business needs and ensuring the availability and performance of critical systems and applications. This role involves leading a team of software engineers, designers, and other engineers to create high-quality, scalable software solutions and automating operations, monitoring system health, and responding to incidents to minimize downtime.

Roles & Responsibilities:

• Lead delivery of overall product and product features from concept to end of life management of the product team comprising of software engineers, product owners and data scientists to ensure that business, quality, and functional goals are met with each product release
• Drives excellence and quality for the respective product releases, collaborating with Partner teams.
• Take ownership of complex software projects from conception to deployment
• Manage software delivery scope, risk, and timeline
• Possesses strong rapid prototyping skills and can quickly translate concepts into working code
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior developers
• Contribute to both front-end and back-end development using cloud technology
• Develop innovative solution using generative AI technologies
• Conduct code reviews to ensure code quality and adherence to best practices
• Create and maintain documentation on software architecture, design, deployment, disaster recovery, and operations
• Identify and resolve technical challenges effectively
• Stay updated with the latest trends and advancements
• Work closely with product team, business team, and other stakeholders
• Design, develop, and implement applications and modules, including custom reports, interfaces, and enhancements
• Analyze and understand the functional and technical requirements of applications, solutions and systems and translate them into software architecture and design specifications
• Develop and execute unit tests, integration tests, and other testing strategies to ensure the quality of the software
• Identify and resolve software bugs and performance issues
• Work closely with cross-functional teams, including product management, design, and QA, to deliver high-quality software on time
• Maintain detailed documentation of software designs, code, and development processes
• Customize modules to meet specific business requirements
• Work on integrating with other systems and platforms to ensure seamless data flow and functionality
• Provide ongoing support and maintenance for applications, ensuring that they operate smoothly and efficiently

Basic Qualifications:

Doctorate degree / Master's degree / Bachelor's degree and 12 to 17 years of experience in Computer Science, IT or related field

Must-Have Skills :

• 5+ years of managerial experience directly managing people and/or leadership experience leading teams, projects, programs or directing the allocation of resources
• Hands on experience with various cloud services, understand pros and cons of various cloud service in well architected cloud design principles
• Hands on experience with Full Stack software development including REST APIs and data pipelines. Proficient in programming language Python(preferred) and SQL/NoSQL.
• Experience in microservices architecture and containerization technologies such as Docker, Kubernetes, Azure, AWS, or other cloud platforms.
• Proficient in JavaScript, TypeScript, React framework, HTML5, CSS, and NPM.
• Committed to delivering top-tier quality in product development and support.

Preferred Qualifications:

Good-to-Have Skills:

• Experience in SQL/NOSQL database, vector database for large language models
• Experience with prompt engineering, model fine tuning
• Experience with DevOps/MLOps CICD build and deployment pipeline
• Experience with design patterns, data structures, test-driven development
• Knowledge of NLP techniques for text analysis and sentiment analysis
• Familiarity with monitoring tools like Grafana and Prometheus, as well as enterprise architectures.

Professional Certifications:

• AWS Developer certification (preferred)
• Any SAFe Agile certification (preferred)
