About the Role

The Assistant Manager - Sales Generation Specialist (SGS) for the Hot Water Solutions (HWS) - Division is responsible for Essco Trade Lighting in the retail segment. The role involves forefront driving sales and ensuring the smooth operation of business transactions within designated territory. The role is integral in developing strong relationships with Area Dealers (AD) and Recognised Dealers (RD), resolving service issues, and contributing significantly to achieving sales targets. This position demands a proactive approach to market engagement, exceptional communication skills, and a deep understanding of the retail landscape.

Key Responsibilities

  • Resolve service and other issues for Recognised Dealers (RD) and Area Dealers (AD) promptly, ensuring a smooth flow of business operations
  • Conduct daily business meetings, including with end customers, according to a pre-decided journey plan, ensuring that each meeting has a documented outcome in the Sales Call Report (SCR)
  • Take personal ownership of sales performance for the top 50 Recognised Dealers (RD) in your area, particularly those classified as A or A+
  • Ensure regular billing and consistent engagement with owned Recognised Dealers to maintain strong business relationships and drive sales growth
  • Focus on achieving range sales targets by promoting the full spectrum of Essco Trade Lighting and ensuring dealers are well-versed in the product offerings
  • Monitor and work towards achieving the total primary sales value against set targets, employing strategies to close any gaps in performance
  • Identify and develop new sales opportunities within your territory, leveraging relationships and market knowledge to expand Essco's footprint in the retail segment
  • Provide timely and accurate reports on sales activities, market trends, and dealer feedback to inform strategic decision-making
  • Ensure that all customer interactions are positive and that customer satisfaction is maintained at a high level, contributing to long-term loyalty and repeat business
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of Essco Trade Lighting's product features, benefits, and competitive positioning to effectively communicate value propositions to dealers and end customers

Qualifications and Experience

  • Education: Graduation/Post Graduation preferred
  • Experience:
  • Minimum of 5 to 7 years of experience in retail sales or a similar role within the consumer goods industry
  • Experience working with dealers and distributors, particularly in a retail environment
  • Familiarity with the electric water heater market or similar product categories is an advantage
  • Skills:
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
  • Strong negotiation and persuasion skills
  • Effective planning and organizational skills to manage multiple responsibilities
  • Ability to analyze sales data and develop actionable insights
