Position Overview

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Junior Accountant to join our finance team. The ideal candidate will be a male professional with 6 months to 1 year of hands-on experience in accounting or a related financial field. This role is crucial in supporting the daily operations of the accounting department, ensuring accuracy in financial records, and contributing to the efficient management of company finances.

Key Responsibilities

The Junior Accountant will be responsible for, but not limited to, the following core tasks:

  • Bookkeeping and Record Management:

  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records, including ledgers, journals, and subsidiary accounts.

  • Process and record daily financial transactions, ensuring proper coding and documentation.

  • Accounts Payable and Receivable:

  • Assist in the preparation and processing of invoices and expense reports.

  • Track and reconcile accounts payable and accounts receivable.

  • Follow up on outstanding payments and resolve billing discrepancies.

  • Reconciliations:

  • Perform monthly bank, credit card, and vendor statement reconciliations.

  • Ensure all transactions are accounted for and discrepancies are promptly investigated and resolved.

  • Financial Reporting Assistance:

  • Provide support in the preparation of month-end and year-end closing procedures.

  • Assist with generating basic financial reports, schedules, and summaries for management review.

  • Compliance and Audits:

  • Ensure compliance with internal financial policies and external regulations.

  • Support the finance team during internal and external audits by preparing necessary documentation.

  • Administrative Support:

  • Organize and maintain a systematic filing system for all financial documents.

  • Perform general administrative duties as required by the finance department.

Qualifications and Requirements

Required:

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Commerce, or a related field.
  • Experience: Minimum 6 months to 1 year of proven experience in an accounting, bookkeeping, or finance-related role.
  • Gender: Male preferred for this position.

  • Technical Skills:

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially MS Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, formulas).

  • Familiarity with standard accounting software (e.g., Tally, QuickBooks, SAP, etc.).

  • Soft Skills:

  • High level of attention to detail and accuracy.

  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Preferred (Bonus Skills):

  • Knowledge of specific industry accounting practices (if applicable to your company).
  • Experience with GST/VAT/Taxes filing and compliance.
