Job description

Managing and administering Proofpoint's email security solutions. Responsibilities include configuring, deploying, and integrating Proofpoint's email security features, such as anti-malware, anti-spam, and email fraud protection. This also includes monitoring and analysing Proofpoint alerts and logs to detect and respond to security threats and incidents.

Key Responsibilities for ProofPoint:

  • Proofpoint Management: Configure, deploy, integrate, and manage Proofpoint security solutions, including email security, data loss prevention (DLP), and information protection.
  • Incident Response: Monitor and analyse Proofpoint alerts and logs to detect and respond to security incidents and threats.
  • Email Security: Administer Proofpoint's email security features, such as anti-malware, anti-spam, and email fraud protection.
  • Troubleshooting: Troubleshoot issues related to Proofpoint appliances and cloud services.
  • Documentation: Create technical documentation, flowcharts, and diagrams to support projects.
  • Customer Interaction: Analyse customer needs and provide technical support.
  • Staying Current: Research and stay up to date on new technologies and best practices in email security.

Required Skills:

  • Strong understanding of email security concepts, including anti-spam, anti-malware, and phishing detection.
  • Experience with Proofpoint email security solutions and appliances.
  • Familiarity with email protocols like SMTP, DKIM, SPF, and MX records.
  • Ability to troubleshoot email security issues and resolve problems.
  • Strong verbal and written communication, presentation, documentation and analytical skills.

Additional Information:

  • Good to have exposure to other cybersecurity technologies, such as firewalls, intrusion detection systems, or security information and event management (SIEM) systems.
  • Experience with cloud-based email security solutions and services.
