The Role

The FlashBlade team builds the industry's most innovative, high-performance, and highly available portfolio of products that are designed for the most demanding mission critical applications.  While we deliver a hardware storage array, over 90% of our engineering staff are software engineers. Our customers are the most important part of our business and they love FlashBlade for its simplicity of management, the constant flow of new and exciting upgrades, and ability to live on the cutting edge of technology while never taking downtime, ever. FlashBlade enables our customers to leverage the agility of the public cloud for both traditional IT and cloud-native applications.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

• Deep Technical Skills: You need significant domain knowledge of the networking stack and proven experience in systems development, including IPv4/IPv6 protocols, API design, and distributed systems. Hands-on experience with Broadcom SDK and Linux kernel or device drivers is also required.

• Strong Algorithmic and Coding Abilities: The role demands strong problem-solving, debugging, and coding skills, with a proven ability to design, implement, and test product components.

• Extensive Industry Experience: You should have experience of development experience on a Linux or other *NIX platform and at least good working with remote teams at a product company.

• Academic Foundation: A Bachelor's or higher degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or Electrical Engineering is a must.

• Collaborative and Self-Motivated: You must be a flexible, accountable, and self-motivated team player with excellent communication skills, capable of thriving in a globally distributed team.

WHAT YOU BRING

• Full-Cycle Development: You'll handle everything from the initial architecture and design to development, release, and ongoing maintenance of the software.

• Requirements and Integration: The job requires analyzing and specifying software requirements. You'll also be responsible for integrating new features with the existing infrastructure and collaborating with other teams.

• Architectural Contribution: A key part of the role is to actively contribute to the architectural evolution and future direction of the FlashBlade Networking product.

• Hands-on Coding: You'll spend significant time designing, coding, and debugging systems. The primary languages used are C and Python.

• Documentation and Support: A final point is the need to support, maintain, and properly document the software functionality you develop to ensure its long-term viability.
