Job summary

As a Software Engineer II at JPMorgan Chase within Corporate Technology, you will contribute to the delivery and support of cutting-edge data platforms by applying SRE principles. You will work closely with development teams to enhance automation, ensure reliability, and achieve operational excellence across a variety of technologies.

Job responsibilities

  • Executes software solutions, design, development, and technical troubleshooting to build solutions or break down technical problems
  • Creates secure and high-quality production code and maintains algorithms that run synchronously with appropriate systems
  • Produces architecture and design artifacts for complex applications while ensuring design constraints are met by software code development
  • Gathers, analyzes, synthesizes, and develops visualizations and reporting from large, diverse data sets to improve software applications and systems
  • Proactively identifies hidden problems and patterns in data and uses these insights to drive improvements to coding hygiene and system architecture
  • Contributes to software engineering communities of practice and events that explore new and emerging technologies

Required qualifications, capabilities and skills

  • Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 2+ years applied experience
  • Hands-on practical experience in full-stack development with Java, React JS, Spring Boot, and microservices architecture
  • Hands-on practical experience setting up and deploying to AWS public cloud infrastructure, containerization with EKS/ECS, and S3
  • Experience working in agile teams
  • Proficient in coding in one or more languages
  • Experience in developing, debugging, and maintaining code in a large corporate environment with one or more modern programming languages and database querying languages
  • Overall knowledge of the Software Development Life Cycle

Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • Knowledge of the financial services industry and IT systems
  • Proficiency with API test automation using Blazemeter or JMeter
  • Familiarity with modern front-end technologies
  • Exposure to cloud technologies
