Chef Assistant

Key Responsibilities:

• Meal Preparation and Cooking:
• Prepare and cook meals for hospital staff according to established recipes and dietary guidelines.
• Ensure that meals are prepared in a timely manner and meet quality standards.
• Portion meals correctly and ensure that food is fresh and appetizing.
• Special dietary requirements (e.g., vegetarian, gluten-free) must be observed and accommodated as needed.
• Menu Planning and Coordination:
• Assist in planning and creating staff meal menus in collaboration with the Food Service Manager or Executive Chef.
• Ensure menus offer a variety of healthy, balanced meal options.
• Food Safety and Hygiene:
• Maintain strict adherence to food safety standards, including proper food storage, handling, and preparation methods.
• Ensure that the kitchen, food preparation areas, and equipment are cleaned and sanitized regularly.
• Follow proper sanitation and health guidelines to prevent contamination.
• Inventory and Stock Management:
• Assist in monitoring food inventory levels and notify the manager when supplies need to be replenished.
• Ensure that ingredients and supplies are stored correctly and safely.
• Team Collaboration:
• Work closely with other kitchen staff to ensure smooth and efficient operations.
• Communicate effectively with the Food Service Manager to report any issues, such as shortages or maintenance needs.
