What your current role should be like?

  • Bring strong expertise in product research, leveraging analytics tools and data platforms to derive actionable insights that shape product strategy and enhance user experience.
  • Be heavily involved in user level product testing to ensure product performs at an acceptable level.
  • Be part of the product management team of a global category product (checkout product, payment product, etc.)
  • Foster collaborative relationships with cross-functional teams, including product, engineering, and business leaders, to ensure research aligns with strategic goals and informs product roadmaps.
  • Lead large-scale research initiatives from study design to execution, synthesizing and presenting insights that drive decision-making and product development.
  • Develop a deep understanding of the Indonesian market context, ensuring local user needs and behaviors are incorporated into product strategies.
  • Exhibit effective storytelling and communication skills to clearly present research insights, fostering shared understanding and alignment across teams.

What will you do?

  • Develop and maintain a broad understanding of the product, business objectives, customers, and competition. Extend a deep understanding of Hootsuite users, and strategic topics that align with business needs - by conducting and supporting research initiatives.
  • Build a close, collaborative, and influential relationship with relevant stakeholders throughout the entire research process: defining research plans and objectives, conducting studies, and providing research insights to support user-centric decision making.
  • Lead large scale research studies with minimal supervision, developing research plans, conducting appropriate methods of research, synthesizing data into meaningful insights, and delivering impactful results that drive change.
  • Continually inject knowledge and expertise in areas of study at various stages of product development and other areas of the business.
  • Actively mentor other team members and better your peers through shared thought leadership and driving effective processes.
  • Shape the roadmap by prototyping and pitching new ideas we haven't even thought of yet, and gaining cross-functional buy-in.
  • Partner closely with product and engineering to shape and define team strategy and roadmaps.
  • Turn ambiguous problems into concrete products, from proposal, to kick-off, vision, building, and launch.
  • Work closely with our partner teams, including Dashboard, Payments, Billing, and more, to create an end-to-end experience that feels coherent.
  • Sometimes work on very broadly defined, loose concepts, and sometimes on narrowly defined, tactical deliverables.
  • Participate in design reviews and share your work regularly with the design and company leadership.

What do you have?

  • Has 5+ years relevant experience in product research at a payment industry product-driven tech company, with a focus on consumer insights and user experience research.
  • Skilled in gathering, analyzing, and presenting research findings to cross-functional partners and stakeholders, using clear storytelling to drive product decisions.
  • Proficiency in a range of research methodologies including user interviews, surveys, usability testing, and data analysis, with an ability to adapt methods based on project needs.
  • Experience partnering closely with product, design, and engineering teams to provide insights that shape product direction and address user needs.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, able to present research findings and insights clearly and concisely to both internal and external stakeholders (both english and bahasa indonesia).
  • Comfort with an iterative product development, providing actionable insights that guide improvements and enhancements throughout the product lifecycle.
  • Has experience working in environments where teams/products are still trying to find product market fit.
  • Familiarity with analytics tools and data platforms to support data-driven research and measure product impact.
