Role Description

This is a full-time, on-site role for a Materials and Corrosion Engineer located in Chennai, India. The role involves analyzing and addressing material degradation challenges, developing and implementing corrosion protection methods, overseeing coating applications, and conducting inspections to ensure asset integrity. The candidate will also collaborate with cross-functional teams and clients to recommend suitable material selection and corrosion mitigation strategies. Additionally, the engineer will prepare and present technical reports and contribute to maintaining compliance with industry standards and regulations.

Qualifications

  • Proficiency in Corrosion, Corrosion Engineering, and Corrosion Protection
  • Knowledge in Coatings and material selection for corrosion prevention
  • Strong background in Metallurgy and material science
  • Experience with asset integrity management and failure analysis
  • Familiarity with industry standards and regulations related to corrosion and material engineering
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work on interdisciplinary teams
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Materials Science, Metallurgical Engineering, or related field
  • Experience in oil and gas, utility, or related engineering sectors is highly desirable
  • Minimum 4 years of relavant experience in oil and gas industry
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills
  • Certification in API 571, NACE/AMPP and NDT level 2 etc are preferred (Not mandatory)
