Senior Database Developer / SQL DBA
with proven experience in
redesigning and scaling large databases

from day one
.

Job Summary

The SQL Database Administrator / Senior Database Developer will be responsible for
analyzing, designing, and implementing scalable, high-performance database solutions
. The role requires
strong expertise in SQL Server, performance tuning, and microservices-based architectures
, along with the ability to handle
large-volume (100TB+) databases
efficiently.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assess current SQL Server database architecture; identify improvements in
    scalability, performance & maintainability
    .
  • Design & implement
    future-ready, high-performance databases
    supporting
    5M+ daily transactions
    .
  • Develop an
    archival strategy
    for cold, warm & hot data storage in a
    100TB+ environment
    .
  • Collaborate with application developers to align database design with
    microservices architecture
    .
  • Optimize performance through
    query tuning, indexing strategies, and bottleneck resolution
    .
  • Implement
    partitioning, indexing & archiving best practices
    for large-scale data.
  • Ensure
    high availability & disaster recovery
    with near-zero
    RPO/RTO
    .
  • Partner with DevOps to
    automate deployment, backup & monitoring
    .
  • Implement
    data security & compliance measures
    .
  • Provide
    technical guidance & mentorship
    to developers and ops teams.
  • Stay updated with the
    latest SQL Server technologies
    & industry best practices.
  • Perform
    Bulk Insert, Import/Export
    from multiple data sources.
  • Develop scripts for
    tables, indexes, views, stored procedures, triggers, functions, and dynamic T-SQL queries
    .

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's/Master's in
    Computer Science, IT, or related field
    .
  • 8+ years
    in
    SQL Server database design, development & administration
    .
  • Proven experience
    redesigning & scaling large SQL databases (100TB+)
    .
  • Strong in
    sharding, partitioning, indexing & scalability techniques
    .
  • Expertise in
    performance tuning, query optimization & troubleshooting
    .
  • Hands-on with
    self-hosted SQL on VMs, migration, backup & recovery
    .
  • Skilled in
    data modeling (ERwin, PowerDesigner, etc.)
    .
  • Strong in
    T-SQL, stored procedures, and triggers
    .
  • Experience with
    microservices & distributed systems integration
    .
  • Excellent
    problem-solving, collaboration & communication skills
