Position Summary:

The Application Engineering Leader will oversee the integration and optimization of engine products into customer-specific applications, ensuring they meet technical, functional, and performance requirements. This role requires strong technical expertise, project management skills, and the ability to collaborate effectively across teams to deliver tailored solutions that enhance customer satisfaction and drive business growth.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Application Development:

   • Lead the design, integration, and customization of engine systems for various customer applications, ensuring compliance with performance, safety, and regulatory standards.
   • Provide technical expertise in adapting engines for applications such as construction, agriculture, automotive, and industrial equipment.

2. Customer Collaboration:

   • Partner with customers to understand their requirements and provide technical guidance on engine selection, integration, and operation.
   • Conduct regular reviews with customers to ensure alignment of technical solutions with their needs.

3. Project Management:

   • Oversee end-to-end application engineering projects, including planning, resource allocation, timeline management, and risk assessment.
   • Ensure timely delivery of solutions within scope and budget.

4. Testing and Validation:

   • Coordinate with internal teams to conduct performance testing, validation, and certification of engines in customer applications.
   • Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues during integration and field testing.

5. Team Leadership:

   • Build, mentor, and lead a high-performing application engineering team, fostering a culture of innovation and excellence.
   • Develop team capabilities to handle complex application challenges and emerging technologies.

6. Continuous Improvement:

   • Identify opportunities for product enhancements based on customer feedback and application performance data.
   • Contribute to the development of new features and solutions to expand market reach.

7. Technical Documentation and Training:

   • Prepare detailed technical documentation for integration processes, customer use, and internal reference.
   • Provide training and technical support to customers and internal stakeholders.

Qualifications and Skills:

1. Education:

   • Bachelors/Masters degree in Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, or a related field.

2. Experience:

   • 20 years of experience in application engineering, preferably in the engine manufacturing industry.
   • Proven track record of managing customer-centric engineering projects.

3. Technical Expertise:

   • Strong understanding of engine systems, emissions technologies, and application requirements.
   • Proficiency in CAD/CAE tools, performance simulation, and diagnostic tools.

4. Leadership and Collaboration:

   • Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional teams and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
   • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to engage effectively with customers and internal teams.

5. Problem-Solving and Innovation:

   • Analytical mindset with the ability to solve complex integration challenges.
   • A proactive approach to identifying and implementing innovative solutions.

6. Regulatory Knowledge:

   • Familiarity with industry-specific regulatory standards and compliance requirements (e.g., BS VI, EPA Tier 4).

• Timely and successful completion of application projects.
• Customer satisfaction and retention rates.
• Reduction in time-to-market for new applications.
