Site Engineers
for a major
Smart Water Metering & AMI implementation project
for a leading water utility.

This is a hybrid role blending
software system handling, on-site commissioning, meter data analytics, and IoT communication
— perfect for engineers who love both field and software work.

Key Responsibilities

  • Commissioning, installation, and testing of
    smart water meters
    and associated IoT communication modules.
  • Configure and maintain
    meter data acquisition systems
    , communication interfaces, and backend integration.
  • Monitor meter performance, perform diagnostics, and resolve field-level technical issues.
  • Coordinate with software teams for validating
    data transfer, dashboards, APIs, and AMI system communication
    .
  • Analyze meter data to identify abnormalities, leakage, tampering, or communication failures.
  • Support firmware upgrades, device troubleshooting, and telemetry validation.
  • Prepare site reports, documentation, and ensure safety & compliance standards.

Mandatory Skills / Experience


Minimum 3 years' experience
in smart metering, IoT devices, utility systems, or software-based AMI/AMR solutions

Strong understanding of
smart water meter technology
, installation, commissioning, and meter data communication

Experience in
maintenance of software systems
, dashboards, or mobile apps related to metering/IoT

Knowledge of:

  • Embedded Systems
  • Signal Processing
    (basic interpretation of sampled meter data)
  • Wireless Communication
    (NB-IoT / LoRa / RF / GSM)
  • Ability to interpret meter events, alerts, flow patterns, consumption trends
  • Hands-on experience with
    diagnostics tools, field testing equipment, or IoT setups
  • Comfortable working at field sites and handling customer coordination

Preferred Qualifications

  • Background in
    ECE, EEE, Instrumentation, CSE, IT or related engineering
  • Experience with
    UFM/Telematics/IoT/AMR/AMI water meter systems
  • Familiarity with mobile apps used by technicians/consumers for meter configuration
  • Understanding of smart utility infrastructure
  • Experience in utility digital transformation projects (water/energy/gas)
