JobTitle: Senior Biomedical Engineer Location: Raipur, Chhattisgarh Hospital: Hospital,250 Beds Reporting to: HOD – Bio Medical / MedicalAdministrator Job SummaryTheSenior Biomedical Engineer will be responsible for managing and supervising thebiomedical engineering department to ensure all medical equipment and systemsoperate safely, effectively, and efficiently. The role involves leading a teamof engineers and technicians, overseeing maintenance schedules, vendor coordination,compliance with NABH and statutory standards, and contributing to equipmentplanning and procurement decisions. Key Responsibilities1.Technical Responsibilities· Superviseinstallation, calibration, preventive and corrective maintenance of biomedicaland diagnostic equipment across hospital departments.· Conductperformance verification, safety testing, and technical evaluation of allmedical devices.· Ensureoptimal uptime of critical equipment by implementing preventive maintenanceprograms.· Maintaincomprehensive records for equipment calibration, service history, andperformance reports.· Collaboratewith clinical teams to troubleshoot technical issues and ensure continuousoperation of life -support and diagnostic systems.2.Supervisory & Administrative Responsibilities· Leadand mentor junior biomedical engineers and technicians in day -to -daymaintenance activities.· Allocatework responsibilities and prepare maintenance schedules and duty rosters.· Liaisewith OEMs, vendors, and service agencies for equipment installation,maintenance contracts, and AMC/CMC management.· Monitorinventory of spare parts, tools, consumables; raise requisitions & controlexpenses.· Assistmanagement in equipment procurement planning, technical specificationspreparation, and budgeting.· Ensurethat all maintenance and service activities are documented and tracked as per NABH/hospitalpolicy.· Prepareand submit regular reports on equipment status, breakdown analysis, preventivemaintenance completion, vendor performance, and compliance updates.· Presentmonthly and quarterly reports to HOD/Management highlighting key metrics,issues, and improvement actions.3.Compliance & Quality· Ensureadherence to NABH, AERB, and other regulatory compliance standards for medicalequipment.· Maintainsafety protocols, infection control, and biomedical waste management.· Supportinternal and external audits by maintaining required documentation.· Conductregular training sessions for clinical staff on safe and effective equipmentusage.· Upholdconfidentiality, patient safety, and data integrity in all departmentaloperations.Qualifications &Experience· Bachelor'sor Master's Degree in Biomedical Engineering or equivalent.· Minimum6–8 years of experience in hospital biomedical engineering, with at least 2–3years in a supervisory or lead role.· Hands -onexperience with diagnostic, therapeutic, and patient -care equipment.· Exposureto NABH or ISO -accredited hospital environments preferred.Skills RequiredStrong technical expertise in troubleshooting, calibration, and maintenance of medical equipment.Leadership and team management capabilities.Sound knowledge of vendor management and procurement processes.Understanding of NABH, AERB, and biomedical regulatory guidelines.Excellent communication, coordination, and analytical skills.Ability to plan, prioritize, and execute multiple maintenance and operational tasks effectively.
