Role & responsibilities

Senior Database Administrator (DBA)

We are seeking an experienced SQL Server Database Administrator to join our team. In this role, you will be leading exciting projects to modernize legacy systems and design databases for future applications, while also managing and maintaining our SQL Server databases. Youll work closely with developers, IT, and business teams to ensure our data systems are secure, efficient, and ready for growth.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, implement, and maintain secure, scalable, and highly available database solutions (e.g., SQL Server, PostgreSQL, MySQL)
  • Monitor and optimize database performance through indexing, query tuning, and storage management
  • Lead database capacity planning, disaster recovery strategy, and backup/restore processes
  • Implement and enforce database security controls including encryption, access controls, and auditing
  • Collaborate with development, DevOps, and infrastructure teams to support software releases and schema changes
  • Automate routine database operations using scripting and infrastructure-as-code tools
  • Manage and troubleshoot replication, clustering, and failover configurations
  • Maintain documentation, procedures, and standards for database systems
  • Evaluate new database technologies and make recommendations for adoption.

Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field
  • 7+ years of hands-on experience in database administration, design, and performance

  • Expertise in SQL Server, with working knowledge of other RDBMS (PostgreSQL, Oracle,

MySQL)

  • Strong proficiency in T-SQL, stored procedures, and performance analysis tools
