WHAT YOU'LL BUILD:

• Develop, Test, and Deploy AI/ML Models: Build models across supervised, unsupervised, generative, and reinforcement learning paradigms. Implement and optimise ML pipelines for data preparation, training, deployment, monitoring, and retraining.
• Collaboration: Work closely with automation, data science, and product teams to translate requirements into technical specifications and ensure successful delivery.
• Integration: Integrate external models via secure APIs, manage prompt/response logging, and apply safety filters.
• Monitoring and Maintenance: Implement monitoring for model outputs, latency, cost, drift, and hallucination rates. Maintain runbooks, service levels, and rollback mechanisms for reliable AI operations.
• Documentation: Create and maintain technical documentation for ML systems and processes

WHAT YOU BRING:

• University degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related technical field. (Specialisation in AI/ML is preferred)
• 8 - 12 years of overeall experience and 3+ years of experience in developing and deploying scalable AI/ML solutions, ideally with hands-on experience in real-world business applications.
• Proven track record in coursework or projects involving sophisticated machine learning algorithms, data analysis, and model deployment.
• Collaboration: Experience working in cross-functional, international teams and collaborating with stakeholders to deliver business outcomes.
• Continuous Learning: Passion for learning and experimenting with new AI technologies, including knowledge graphs, multi-modal AI, and generative AI.

Tech Focus Areas:

• Programming (Python preferred)
• Machine Learning Frameworks (Tensorflow, Scikit-learn, PyTorch)
• MLOps (Familiarity with CI/CD, model registry, feature store, containerisation (Docker, Kubernetes), and orchestration for AI workloads.)
• Data Engineering: ETL pipelines, SQL, Pandas, Spark, Apache
• NLP & GenAI: Transformers, BERT, GPT, text embeddings, prompt engineering, LLM frameworks (LangChain, LlamaIndex).

SAP's Corporate Processes and Information Technology (CPIT) organization is SAP's reliable technology partner who is providing the strategy and technological foundation for an Intelligent Enterprise, enabling SAP's business transformation towards a cloud company. As part of CPIT, IT Operations is SAP's Platform provider and responsible for running SAP's critical business applications. Within IT Operations, the service unit "Business Infrastructure Operations" (BIO) is responsible for 24x7 operations of important and critical SAP systems and applications embedded in an international delivery approach. BIO runs hybrid environment with various operating, databases and applications on on-prem, IaaS on Public (Azure) and Private cloud Infrastructure, Business Technology Platform (BTP). BIO works in close collaboration with SAP development and porting teams as a trusted partner to implement the latest and greatest product releases which serve as reference to SAP customers. The teams are distributed globally and located in Germany, India, and Mexico.
