  • Responsible for the preparation and maintenance of operating theatres and equipment before, during and after surgery.
  • Checking of OT equipment for malfunctions and defects (e.g. Anaesthesia machine, suction apparatus, cauterie machine, C-ARM, microscope, medical gases, etc). Ensure availability of drugs and consumables for the patient (e.g. Checking of anaesthesia trolley)
  • Ensures that patient documentation (e.g. Consent forms, investigation reports, etc) are complete prior to surgery Perform identity check of patient before a surgery
  • Shift the patient as per requirement (e.g. Pre-op room to OT table, OT table to Recovery room, etc) Prepare drugs and consumables for the patient according to the instructions of the Anaesthetist
  • Assist the Anaesthetist in administering anaesthesia to the patient.
  • Position the patient according to the instructions of the Anaesthetist and the Surgeon.
  • Assist the Surgeon in surgical support activities (e.g. Cauterie machine, suction apparatus, tourniquet, etc)
  • Cleaning and disinfecting instruments used for the patient.
  • Dispose waste materials according to protocol (e.g. Syringes, sharps, glass items, plastic, blood-soaked gauze, etc in specified containers)
  • Prepare operation theatre for future surgeries.
  • Document all consumable items used during surgery (e.g. Consumables Register).
  • Send linen for washing, and perform packing of linen/instruments and autoclaving Keep autoclaved items in the sterile zone (in the OT) supervise ward boys for cleaning of equipment (e.g. Anaesthesia machine, cauterise machine, suction apparatus, OT table, etc).

Job Specifications:

  • Qualification: Diploma/Bachelor's degree in OT
  • Experience: 3-6 years as an OT Technician in Hospitals
  • Must be flexible to work in rotational shifts.
  • Work Location: Sequel Rd, beside Ambedkar Function Hall, Yedulapuram, Khammam, Telangana
