Position Overview:
We are looking for an experienced Sugar Trader to join our team in Delhi. The ideal candidate must have a proven track record and hands-on experience in sugar trading. In addition to sugar, candidates with experience in rice trading will be given preference. The Sugar Trader will be responsible for managing procurement, sales, client relations, pricing strategies, and market analysis to drive the growth of our sugar trading division.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and manage client portfolios for sugar trading (domestic and international markets).
- Build and maintain strong relationships with sugar suppliers, manufacturers, mills, and buyers.
- Conduct in-depth market research and analysis to understand price trends, demand-supply dynamics, and competitor activities.
- Negotiate and close profitable trading deals while ensuring favorable terms and conditions.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of market regulations, import/export policies, and commodity-specific compliance.
- Collaborate with internal logistics, finance, and operations teams to ensure seamless execution of trade contracts.
- Continuously monitor market fluctuations and global sugar trends to identify trading opportunities and mitigate risks.
- Prepare periodic sales and market performance reports for management review.
- Expand the company's trading network by identifying new clients and markets.
Key Requirements:
- Minimum 2-3 years of proven experience in sugar trading is mandatory.
- Additional experience in rice trading will be a strong advantage.
- Solid understanding of the sugar commodity market, including procurement, pricing, quality standards, and international trading practices.
- Strong negotiation, analytical, and relationship management skills.
- Must have a well-established network of suppliers, buyers, and market contacts in the sugar industry.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills.
- Ability to work independently and under pressure in a target-driven environment.
- Proficiency in MS Office and basic knowledge of trading documentation and contracts.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Business, International Trade, Agriculture, or a related field.
- Exposure to international sugar trading will be an added advantage.
- Familiarity with trading platforms and CRM tools.
