The Electronics Maintenance Engineer is responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and improving the performance of electronic manufacturing equipment. The role ensures maximum equipment uptime, supports production with quick response to equipment failures, and contributes to the overall efficiency and quality of the manufacturing process.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform preventive, corrective, and predictive maintenance on electronics manufacturing equipment, including SMT lines, reflow ovens, wave soldering machines, AOI, ICT, and testers.
- Troubleshoot and repair electronic, electrical, and mechanical issues to minimize production downtime.
- Calibrate and validate manufacturing machines to ensure product quality and compliance with standards.
- Monitor equipment health using diagnostic tools and maintain maintenance logs.
- Support machine installation, setup, and commissioning in coordination with vendors and engineering teams.
- Implement continuous improvement initiatives for equipment reliability and efficiency.
- Maintain spare parts inventory and ensure timely ordering of critical components.
- Assist in root cause analysis (RCA) and implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
- Ensure compliance with ESD, safety, and quality standards in all maintenance activities.
- Train operators and junior technicians on basic equipment handling and first-level maintenance procedures.
Required Skills & Competencies:
- Strong knowledge of electronics circuits, control systems, and industrial automation.
- Hands-on experience with SMT machines (e.g., Yamaha, Juki, Fuji, Panasonic) and testing equipment.
- Familiarity with PLC systems, HMI, sensors, and actuators.
- Proficient in using oscilloscopes, multimeters, soldering/DE soldering stations, and other test instruments.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, wiring diagrams, and manuals.
- Good understanding of Lean, TPM, and 5S principles is a plus.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Qualifications:
- Diploma / Bachelor's degree in Electronics, Electrical, Mechatronics, or Instrumentation Engineering.
- 2–5 years of experience in electronics manufacturing maintenance or EMS environment.
- Knowledge of IPC standards, ESD practices, and safety protocols is preferred.
