Job Description – Kitchen Steward (KST)

Work Location : Nalapani Sahstradhara Dehradun
Pay: 10,000 to 14,000/month
Position Overview
The Kitchen Steward (KST) is responsible for maintaining cleanliness, hygiene, and sanitation standards in the kitchen and F&B areas. The role ensures efficient operation of dishwashing, handling kitchen equipment safely, and supporting chefs and kitchen staff in daily operations.
Key Responsibilities
1. Cleaning & Sanitation
- Clean and sanitize all kitchen utensils, cookware, cutlery, and equipment.
- Maintain cleanliness of kitchen floors, walls, storage areas, and workstations.
- Ensure all garbage is collected, segregated, and disposed of properly.
2. Dishwashing Operations
- Operate dishwashing machines and ensure proper washing cycles.
- Hand-wash delicate or large items when necessary.
- Keep dishwashing area clean, organized, and safe.
3. Kitchen Support
- Assist chefs and kitchen staff by supplying clean equipment and utensils.
- Restock plates, bowls, cutlery, and other items in designated stations.
- Support during busy service hours to ensure smooth operations.
4. Equipment Handling
- Handle all kitchen equipment safely and report any faults or damages immediately.
- Assist in maintaining proper storage of kitchen tools and supplies.
- Follow all safety procedures while using cleaning chemicals and machinery.
5. Hygiene & Safety Compliance
- Adhere to hotel hygiene standards and food safety regulations (HACCP/FSSAI).
- Ensure correct usage of cleaning materials and personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Maintain high standards of personal grooming and professional behavior.
6. Inventory & Stock Support
- Assist in receiving and organizing kitchen supplies.
- Report shortage of cleaning materials or breakages to supervisors.
- Keep storage areas neat and properly labeled.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Prior experience in kitchen stewarding or housekeeping (preferred but not mandatory).
- Basic understanding of hygiene and sanitation standards.
- Ability to work in fast-paced environments and handle physical tasks.
- Good teamwork and communication skills.
- Flexibility to work in shifts, weekends, and busy hotel operations.

- Stewarding Supervisor / Executive Chef / F&B Manager
