Job Description: SD-WAN Network L2/L3 Support Engineer (Viptela/Meraki)

Location: Chennai/Nagpur, India

Position Type: Full-Time

Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled SD-WAN Network L2/L3 Support Engineer with expertise in Viptela to join our team in Chennai or Nagpur. The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing advanced technical support for our SD-WAN solutions, ensuring high availability, performance, and security of our network infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Technical Support: Provide L2/L3 support for SD-WAN network issues, including troubleshooting, diagnosing, and resolving complex network problems related to Viptela solutions.
  • Network Configuration: Configure and manage SD-WAN devices, ensuring optimal performance and security. This includes working with technologies such as VXLAN, EVPN, and IPsec.
  • Incident Management: Respond to and resolve network incidents, minimizing downtime and ensuring service continuity.
  • Performance Monitoring: Monitor network performance using tools like SNMP, NetFlow, and Wireshark, and implement improvements to enhance reliability and efficiency.
  • Documentation: Maintain detailed documentation of network configurations, changes, and troubleshooting procedures.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including network architects, security teams, and vendors, to implement and support network solutions.
  • Training and Mentorship: Provide guidance and training to junior network engineers and support staff.

Qualifications:

  • Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in network support, with a focus on SD-WAN technologies, particularly Viptela.

  • Technical Skills:

  • Proficiency in SD-WAN technologies and solutions, specifically Viptela.

  • Strong understanding of networking protocols and concepts (e.g., BGP, OSPF, MPLS, VPN).
  • Experience with network monitoring and management tools.
  • Knowledge of network security principles and best practices, including firewall configurations, IDS/IPS, and SSL/TLS.
  • Familiarity with QoS (Quality of Service) and traffic engineering.
  • Experience with specific Viptela tools such as:
  • vManage: Network Management System for centralized management and monitoring.
  • vSmart: Controller for policy and control plane management.
  • vBond: Orchestrator for initial device authentication and connectivity.
  • vEdge: Routers for data plane operations.
  • vAnalytics: Platform for performance visibility and analytics
